**Job Purpose**

To be successful as the VP of Engineering at igloocompany, you should ideally have prior engineering leadership experience in a technology-driven company, are a strategic problem-solver and thrive in ambiguity. You are required to collaborate closely with management, peers and command respect from engineers. You are a great people’s person with deep technical knowledge. You should demonstrate excellent communication skills, an ability to connect with engineers and developers, and have a solid foundation in software design and engineering.

igloocompany’s engineering teams are spread across China, Indonesia and Singapore, and regional management is required. While you will mostly be directly managing the software teams, experience with working with hardware and firmware engineers would be a huge advantage for the role.
**Responsibilities**
- Lead the team through management and mentorship, via both technical and non-technical leadership
- Model the values of igloocompany, drive the culture for the engineering team
- Develop products, services, processes that will be adopted across the company
- Establish consensus amongst divergent and sometimes opposing teams, and act as the trusted leader to represent and articulate the divergent views
- Identify, recommend, and implement new technologies and systems to improve organizational processes and decision-making within the engineering teams
- Establish, communicate, and implement engineering and development policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent operations.
- Be a strategic leader and be proactive in driving change within the engineering team and also across the company, shaping the engineering team with company’s business objectives in mind
- Collaborate with the company’s executive leadership to develop and meet organizational goals while supplying expertise and guidance on technology and engineering capabilities
- Establish and administer the department’s budget.
- Ensure that departmental decisions such as staffing, development, organization, acquisitions, and facilities are in line with the organizations business plan and vision.
- Attract top talent and actively identify, recruit, and develop successful managers within the team
- Start new, reform existing and ramp down teams where necessary to achieve business objectives.
- Maintain and continuously build up knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in engineering and development related to the organizations industry.
**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering required, especially in the field of software engineering
- Prior experience in engineering leadership in a high growth technology company
- At least 10 years of related experience required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Extensive knowledge of engineering principles and procedures
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong leadership and mentorship skills
- Experience in Project Management related role is an added bonus
