**What the role is**
- We are looking for a passionate individual to be part of the Blood Services Group (BSG), Blood Resources Division (Blood Bank). The appointee for this position will be a staff nurse on 1- year temporary contract who contributes to the blood collection operation in the blood bank.

This position is intended to be on temporary contract, for up to 12 months. Successful appointee will be appointed under a contract by a recruitment agency.

**What you will be working on**
- Supervise and support the operations of Whole Blood and Apheresis collection programmes.
- Provide blood donation nursing care, perform donor phlebotomy
- Assist in the management of blood donor complications within set standard operating procedures to ensure the safety of the national blood supply

**What we are looking for**
- Minimum Diploma for Registered Nurses (Nurse must have a valid registration certificate with Singapore Nursing Board)
- Possess knowledge, competence and clinical responsibility in the management of donors across all blood collection sites for whole blood and apheresis collection, in accordance with quality and safety requirements
- Able to perform blood donation procedures efficiently and handle blood donation related adverse events with mínimal supervision
- Have basic knowledge of Apheresis technology and able to perform Apheresis donation procedures. Appointee will also be expected to do simple troubleshooting of procedures with guidance.
- Demonstrates awareness of the relevant ethical, licensing, quality and accreditation standards and requirements
- Service-oriented individual with good communication skills who strives to build a good relationship with internal and external stakeholders
- A good team player, who is willing to guide, supervise and impart knowledge to junior colleagues
- The appointee will be assigned to one of the blood bank collection sites or mobile drives
- The working arrangement will be based on a 5-day work week, including weekends. The appointee will be required to perform morning, afternoon and weekend shifts as rostered. Not required to perform night shift.
