**What the role is**

The MPA Maritime Cyber Security Department is the forefront of cyber security efforts and initiatives for Maritime Singapore. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a cybersecurity consultant to build cybersecurity capabilities for Maritime Singapore.

**What you will be working on**

The key duties and responsibilities are to:

- Assist in the planning, execution and delivery of cybersecurity projects including key project areas such as the industry Security Operations Centre, the cyber security training centre, the conduct of data and cyber security table-top exercises and providing in-house cybersecurity consultation on MPA digital projects.
- Conduct research on cybersecurity best practices and emerging threats in development of new cybersecurity guidelines for the maritime sector.
- To conduct open-source research on cyber security tactics, techniques and procedures associated with the threat landscape to develop methods to enhance the detection and monitoring of such activities by developing technology and tools in the analysis of cybersecurity data to identify trends and potential threats.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with overseas government agencies and organisations related to maritime and/or cybersecurity including managing international meetings and events.
- Manage MPA’s international-related agreements and support the development of MPA’s engagement with strategic partners and alliances, including coordinating the work of international committees under your area of responsibility.

**What we are looking for**
- Background in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields in information security.
- At least 2-3 years of cybersecurity experience in consultancy, security operations, or cyber engineering.
- Professional cybersecurity certifications (such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent) will be preferred.
- Prior experience with engaging with diverse stakeholders, networking and developing relations with international governmental agencies or not-for-profit organisations will have an advantage.
- Good verbal and written communication skills with stakeholders at all levels with cultural and diplomatic sensitivity.
- Familiarity and a commitment to gain knowledge on technical issues relating to maritime cybersecurity.
