Respiratory Therapy Assistant, Inpatient Operations

Respiratory Therapy Assistant/Technician is responsible in assisting the Respiratory Therapist in the care and maintenance of all ventilators and other respiratory related equipment’s.
**The Challenges**
**You will be required to**:
- To ensure cleanliness of ventilators and other respiratory equipment, general cleaning of Ventilator mainframe.
- Assemble, set-up ventilators, checking noxbox inhaled nitric oxide machine, and other related Respiratory Therapy equipment’s.
- Perform pre-use testing on ventilators and all RT equipment’s to ensure function prior to use.
- Monitoring of level 2 NIV machine and changing the filter every end of the month.
- To coordinate with Central Sterile Supply Department for the equipment processing such as cleaning and disinfection, and sterilization of the equipment.
- To coordinate with the biomedical engineering department for preventive maintenance and servicing/repair and/or follow up of respiratory equipment.
- To monitor and ensure sufficient supply of respiratory forms and consumable items in the department and coverage areas.
- To ensure proper cleaning, disinfection of bronchoscope & top of bronchoscopy trolley, Consumables and tower.
- To maintain cleanliness, troubleshooting, monitoring of ABG machine and consumables.
- To perform PAPR checking and monitoring
- To Prepare transport ventilator and maintain orderliness of equipment post procedure.
- Participate in departmental quality assurance and hospital-wide organizational performance improvement activities.
- Perform photocopying, binding, filing and distribution of documents and forms.
- Perform basic data entry and data retrieval using relevant computer programmes.
- To comply infection control practices.
- To ensure cleanliness RT equipment room and bronchoscopy room at all times.
- Maintain therapeutic equipment and devices.
- To undertake any other duties, assign by Reporting Officer.
Job Requirements:
- Competent in IT skills (Microsoft Excel / Word / Access / PowerPoint).
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
