Meranti Power Pte Ltd, a fully owned subsidiary of Energy Market Authority, is establishing a multi-discipline project team to manage the development of the new power generating station on Jurong Island. We are currently working with the Engineering Consultancy Services Consultants in all aspects of the development of the new power generation station.

We are inviting applicants for the position of Commercial Executive, who shall work on the Commercial aspects in the generation station development and subsequent operations after commissioning. The Commercial Executive shall report to the Head, Project and Commercial and assist him to:
**Responsibility**:

- Perform electricity bidding and natural gas nominations in accordance to bidding strategy, management’s directions as well as Singapore Market Rules, Gas Network Code and gas agreement.
- Generate accurate and timely reports on trading performance in the Electricity and Gas market, incorporating analysis including industry study, forecast of electricity demand and generation supply and projection of electricity prices, as well as new regulatory papers and proposals to stay up-to-date with energy market developments.
- Understand the contractual obligations of the various natural gas supply contracts and retail electricity contracts and liaise with power plant operation team to meet the Company’s generation running plan..
- Prepare daily estimated Gross Margin performance, highlighting key market events or trading activities and prepare month end accruals to Finance. Prepare, set up and implement trading related tools/systems, as well as contracts and fuel sales agreements.

**Requirements**:

- Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, Mathematics or equivalent
- Relevant working experience in energy industry would be an advantage.
- Self-motivated and independent with strong analytical and communication skills.
- On normal work hours. However, must be able to perform scheduled duties, including work from home after office hours as the Electricity Market operates on a 24 x 7 basis.
- At least 2 years’ experience in trading in the Singapore Wholesale Electricity Market (SWEM)
- Possess experience in gas nomination and has know of the Singapore Gas Network Code. Good presentation and interpersonal skills would be an advantage.
