Special Education Teacher

Conduct assessments periodically to evaluate the needs and progress of each child.
- Assess children’s skills to determine their needs and develop teaching plans
- Adapt lessons to meet the needs of the children
- Develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for each child.
- Plan, organize, and assign activities that are specific to each child’s abilities
- Teach and mentor children as a class, in small groups, and one-on-one
- Implement IEPs, assess children’s performance, and track their progress
- Update IEPs throughout the school year to reflect each child’s progress and goals
- Prepare and conduct IEP reports and meetings. Discuss children’s progress with parents, teachers, counselors, and administrators.
- Work with the various therapists and teachers to support the children’s learning processes.
- Supervise and mentor teacher assistants who work with children with additional needs
- To provide and maintain a safe, healthy, and conducive learning environment for children.
- Conduct and facilitate meetings with parents and team members regarding intervention and makes necessary adjustments to the plan as needed
- Comply with NCSS requirements
**Requirements**:
- Specialist Diploma in Early Childhood Intervention (Special Needs) (SDESN) or an acceptable equivalent
- Diploma in Special Education by National Institute of Education (NIE)
- Strong command of the English language
- Knowledge of Mandarin would also be an advantage
- Teaching experience in EIPIC would be an advantage
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Good knowledge of current special education topics and methodologies
- Proficiency in collaborating effectively within a team environment.
- A deep-rooted dedication to empowering special needs children, enabling them to unleash their abilities and reach their full potential.
- Particularly enthusiastic and devoted to supporting children with learning disabilities, developmental delays, and/or special needs, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Global Developmental Delay, and a diverse range of learning and behavioral challenges.
