DESIGNATION : Virtualization Engineer (Nutanix)

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Virtualization Engineer will lead the transformation to bring Cloud flexibility in our Datacenters. He will manage Hyperconverged Infrastructure to reduce deployment lead time and administration works. He will drive the automation to reduce human errors and align with standards. Scalability, reliability and visibility are the key points to a healthy environment. To ensure business flexibility and efficiency he will support the hybrid cloud architecture. As a member of NTUC Enterprise Center of Excellence you will be exposed to the latest technologies with AWS Cloud, Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, Kubeflow, ML/AI, Big Data,NUTANIX, AHV in Hybrid/multi cloud environment.We are strong believers in DevSecOps, SRE, Agile and FinOps.
- Maintain and manage a fleet of servers in the On Premise Data Center and Private Cloud
- Work with systems engineers to ensure that Operating systems are as efficient as possible.
- Ensure all systems are backed up and restoration is possible.
- Ensure systems are replicated to disaster recovery sites.
- Responsible for availability, latency, performance, efficiency, monitoring, emergencyresponse, and capacity planning.
- Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services from inception and design,through automation, operation, and refinement.
- Engage in workload migration to Public Cloud
- Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency,and overall system health.
- Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation; evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity.
- Drive migrations from legacy platforms to HCI.
- Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems.
- Documenting “tribal” knowledge.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related technical field involving systems engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in Unix/Linux and/or Windows operating systems.
- Experience in analyzing and troubleshooting systems
- Experience in using scripting languages to automate or for server administration
- Understanding of Infrastructure monitoring, logging, alerting release and configuration management.
- Experience in Hyperconverged Infrastructure with NUTANIX
- Experience in AHV hypervisor, VMware and Hyper-V
- Understanding of Firewalls and Networking (e.g. TCP/IP, routing, network topology, loadbalancers, DNS, NTP).
- Experience with AWS or GCP is a plus
- Experience with any orchestration technologies, e.g., Puppet, Chef, Salt, Ansible,Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform.
- Experience in CI/CD (e.g., JIRA, Git, Jenkins, Nexus,...) is a plus
- Experience in standard IT security practices (e.g., encryption, certificates, keymanagement)
- Experience with ITIL and ITSM best practices
- Experience in working in a service provider environment, dealing with business usersand clients.
- Excellent communication, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work non-business hours that may include weekends and/or holidays
- Self-starter who is able to identify and perform tasks with mínimal supervision
- Experience with GSuite apps (Gmail, Gsheet, Gdoc,...)
