**Job Title**:Primary Foundation Programme Teacher (ESL)
**Department/Division**: Primary
**Reports to**: Primary Principal and Teacher in Charge of Foundation Programme
**Key Accountabilities**
- Provide high-quality English language education and facilitate smooth educational transitions while aligning with the school's mission and values.
**Knowledge and Skills Required**:
- Have experience as a homeroom teacher.
- Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate cultural awareness and effective communication with diverse students and parents.
- Proficiency in using information technology and student achievement data.
- Familiarity with Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL).
**Curriculum and Instructional Responsibilities**:
- Utilise data for differentiated instruction.
- Conduct formative and summative assessments in consultation with team members.
- Maintain organized lesson plans.
- Create an inspiring learning environment aligned with relevant IB programmes.
- Manage classroom procedures and student behavior effectively.
**Professional Responsibilities**:
- Ensure student safety and well-being.
- Support the school’s Mission, Vision, Core Values, and Learning Principles.
- Participate in Child Protection training.
- Engage in the Individual Work Plan (IWP) process.
- Meet expectations outlined in CIS FP Teacher Job Description, CIS Teacher Standards, and CIS IB Programme Expectations for Teachers.
- Seek feedback from parents and students.
- Reflect individually and collaboratively on performance.
- Contribute to school activities and community building.
- Demonstrate dependability, punctuality, and preparedness for class.
**Required Qualifications**:
- Level 7 ELT qualification (e.g., MA in Applied Linguistics, DELTA, etc.).
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum of five years’ ESL teaching experience.
**Experience**:
- Minimum of five years’ ESL teaching experience.
- Experience as a homeroom teacher.
- Knowledge of WIDA assessment tool.
- Preferred: Training and experience in International Baccalaureate.

- Effective selection and use of instructional strategies for ESL students.
