Resident Architect

**GENERAL**
- To work directly under the SRA/SRE.
- In accordance with the present requirements of the Architects Act (Chapter 12), Architects (Professional Conduct and Ethics) Rules 2001, your attention is therefore drawn to your required duties and responsibilities in carrying out the proper and full-time site supervision work for the satisfactory construction and completion of all building works including but not limited to architectural and ID works, all in compliance with the specification contract requirements and in accordance with the relevant Building Authorities’ rules and regulations and requirements.
- To liaise, coordinate and cooperate with Consultants and Design Team to resolve on-site design and technical / coordination issues in a timely manner.
- To study the contract documents and drawings and verify if there are any discrepancies among the drawings. All discrepancies shall be brought to the attention of the Design Team concerned.
- To ensure that all installation methods and material used are in accordance with the contract drawings and specifications.
- To liaise with the contractors and the Design Team in the checking and approval of shop drawings, catalogues and samples.
- To liaise with the contractors in the co-ordination of site works.
- To liaise with the contractors in resolving site installation problems. All problems on site shall be referred immediately to the Design Team and SRA/SRE.
- To attend to Contractor’s queries and Request for Works Inspection for works in a timely manner.
- To organize and work in tandem with the assigned Site Staff/RTOs to conduct the daily routine checks, monitoring, inspection and review of works for compliance with design intent, plans and specifications and quality standards.
- To monitor, assess and record the works progress on daily basis to ensure that the site programme is in accordance with the approved construction programme. In the event of delays, the RA shall report to the SRA/SRE in response to the Project Managers.
- To attend relevant on-site and off-site work inspections.
- To attend and report on Mock-Up / Prototype Reviews.
- To liase with Contractor’s Construction Manager on all issues related to the Works Compliances, Site Safety and Health Environmental upkeeps.
- To monitor and report on the Contractor’s enforcement of safety practices.
- To assist in handing over of the installations to the Client’s maintenance staff.
- To sign certification of supervision form for facade works.
- To attend Technical Working Sessions, Site Meetings, Client-Consultants Meetings, and other meetings & working sessions as required by the SO.
- To organize the information gathering and compilation, and render assistance to the Consultants in the Review and of Contractor’s Claims.
- To report regularly on the overall project development and assists with the preparation of certificate of stage completion, progress reports, design coordination, buildability and quality issues
- To review Contractor’s works methodology, remedial details and material submissions.
- To organize with assigned Site Staff/RTOs to ensure all site diaries and inspection records are kept and consolidate & file weekly.
- To conduct regular toolbox meeting with the assigned Site Staff/ RTOs.
- To undertake other duties as delegated C&S / M&E Consultant by SO.
- To ensure the following: Stamps, Records, Distributes and Archives all Incoming and Outgoing Correspondences, Drawings c/w Drawing Registers, Technical Submittals, Specifications, Reports, and Forms including the scanned softcopies where relevant.
- To liaise with the SRAs and CREs on Staff Resourcing, Work Scheduling including Over-time Works.
- Ancillary project duties as per SO’s instruction periodically.
- To disseminate updated project information to RTOs.
- To attend & provide timely and quality advice to the other Site Staff / Resident Technical Officers in resolving problems.
- To manage all RTO on site, including staff performance of duties, staff timesheet recording, movement, leave records, claims and other administrative matters.
- To deputize the RTOs in their absence.
- To oversee and facilitate staff communication, welfare, morale, discipline and productivity issues.
- To maintains and control access to the Samples and Document Rooms.

**TECHNICAL**
- To check on site that all materials used are of the approved type and of the specified quality.
- To check on site that all installation works are of the approved methods.
- To check on site that all material and equipment used have been approved by the Design Team.
- To ensure that contractors shall not proceed to the next stage of construction / installation if work is not in accordance with specification approved method or design.
