RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Plant Engineering Manager is responsible for the technical care and condition of the respective plants in cooperation with the Plant Manager. He/ she assures the defined technical availability of the equipment resp. the assets according to the production requirements, with continuous technical improvements, and in conformance to changing requirements in respect to economics, safety and care for the environment. He/ she provides leadership for the Plant Engineer.
- He/ she is responsible for planning, managing, and organizing the engineering and technical support to the plants as assigned by the Head of Technology& Maintenance. This support includes maintenance activities, technical changes/ improvements, project management and technical documentation. The incumbent is business oriented in his work and shows a high level of cost awareness and cost responsibility and knows accounting principles. He/ she Contributes to maintain and administer facility quality, safety and environmental programs/processes, including non-conformance action items and MOC processes. He/she therefore is in close contact with the relevant departments to be up to date in terms of regulations.
- The Plant Engineering Manager provides the business with seasoned process, maintenance and project expertise which combines experience in process engineering with in-depth knowledge of the plant requirements. Uses mature engineering judgment, creativity and foresight to initiate studies, projects and new developments and to anticipate and solve unprecedented problems with a focus on long term technical solutions.
- The plant engineering manager can be requested to take part in international meetings to enhance the experience exchange with other Evonik sites

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Bachelor or Master in chemical or mechanical Engineering
- 5-10 years of experience as plant engineer or maintenance supervisor in chemical or petro-chemical industry
- Experience in plant maintenance
- Ability to manage internal and external maintenance workforce
- Intensive know-how of chemical process equipment
- Ability to implement new processes and organizational structures
- Organizational skills to plan and schedule larger shutdowns
- Experience with SAP, accounting principles, cost awareness
- Communication skills to foster team work and know-how exchange
