**Job Purpose:
The Junior Trader assumes day-to-day trading activities, which include executing trading activities based on trading plans, portfolio positions and market conditions. He/She is also familiar with trade operations and is able to identify opportunities that could enhance local and regional trade portfolio positions. He/She is expected to maintain good business relationships with trade partners. He/She and has a sound understanding of the commodity market that supports portfolio optimisation and trading activities.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Manage global risk position including execution of trade strategies and hedging of market risk using coal index futures where appropriate
- Actively provide market insights for Coal and/or even other commodities
- Develop and structure new sales and procurement channels
- Identify trading opportunities, negotiate and execute physical trades
- Assist and work with senior trader on operational and commercial matters to ensure smooth trade flows
- Coordinate with in-house operations team and external counterparties to ensure trades and deliveries are completed
- Assist and ensure physical and paper positions are properly marked and executed
- Manage and develop buyer/supplier relationships and willingness to travel to mine/processing sites and warehouses

**Education and Qualifications:
**Experience**:

- Around 2-4 years working experience in a physical trading house ideally in hard commodities Understanding of coal and its trading products
- Financial knowledge and commercially minded, innovative mindset and openness to new ideas
- Ability to spot opportunities and the assertiveness to seize them
- Good knowledge/ exposure to the supply chain and operations (logistics, documentation, etc)

**Skills**:

- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with good written and spoken English
- Able to work on own initiative under pressure and in a methodical, detailed and accurate fashion
