The Big Picture:
- Howden Singapore (HSG) has an immediate need for self-motivated, customer focused Service Operations Manager, to:
- Lead and expand a group of Service Personnel in the following areas: Field Service, Reconditioning Workshop, Service Workshop, Service Quotation & Order Handling, Key Account Management and Warehouse and Logistics.-
- Take full responsibility for the coordination and planning of all HSG Service Personnel in South East Asia.-
- Coordinate and fine tune all Field Service and Repair activities with the customer and Howden standards internally.-

- What needs to be done?
- Service Quotation, Order Handling, Planning and Coordination- Prepare annual service rates, budgeting, quotations and order confirmations for service and workshop jobs & monitor production variation.-
- Control, manage and continuously updates the field service planning with all pending and newly scheduled service and workshop jobs.-
- Support Regional Sales Manager in technical discussions with clients for preparation of service quotations.- Field Service- Manage briefing and debriefing and support the field service teams to make sure the field service operates in full compliance to all Howden procedures, latest technologies and QHSE procedures and processes.-
- Manage contractors and suppliers related to the work performed by Howden.-
- First line contact for customers and field service and workshop personnel on all technical, commercial and other matters before, during and after service and workshop jobs.- Workshop- Managing the implementation of new and additional repair products and processes in cooperation with the Reconditioning Workshop Lead and Service Workshop Lead.-
- First line of contact for field service personnel and customers and acts as seamless link between them and the workshop.- Key Account Management- Manage the close relationship of key account management with the field service and workshop teams to assure smooth and successful cooperation.-
- Manage customer relationship with contract holder of the key account customer to ensure sustainable and growth of the business.- Logistics and Warehouse- Manage the close relationship of the logistics and warehouse department with the finance & administration team as well as the quotation & order handling team to assure smooth and successful cooperation.- Talent Development, Training and Continuous Improvements- Manage and coordinate recruitment of new service employees, talent management, personal development plans and continuous improvement programs with all service personnel.- Regional and Global Cooperation- Manages and coordinates the regional/global field service planning, and discuss/agree with other Howden units on utilization of field service capacity in the region and globally.- Job/Project Financial and Progress Management- Manages and keeps close track on financial performance of all service jobs and makes sure all projects are completed within budget.-
- Manages the cost calculations of all service jobs/projects with margins to be in line with the yearly budget.-
- Manages and keeps track of the on-time invoicing and cash collection of all service jobs/projects in cooperation with the Finance Department.- SHE and Howden Policies- Implement, manage and coordinates compliance to all HSE processes required to maintain or improve present HSE certification.-
- Fully comply with Howden and local SHE policies, standards, rules, regulations and (local) legislation.-
- To be Champion/Owner in Duty of Care on EHS Standard related to Service Operations.- What do you need to bring?- Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar, or extended (10-15 years) relevant Service Management experience.-
- A detailed understanding of rotating equipment, specifically on Compressors, Fans and Heaters.-
- Extended and proven experience and industry recognized expertise with Heavy Duty rotating equipment like Gas Compressors, Fans and Heaters in the Oil & Gas and Power industries and in particular the bigger Oil Refineries and Power Plants in South East Asia.-
- At least 5 to 10 years relevant experience in managing teams of Field Service Engineers, Rotating Equipment and Reliability Engineers and Technicians as well as workshop/repair activities.-
- Able to manage and coordinate a series of complex Maintenance Projects at the same time.-
- Able to flexibly prepare, optimize and manage Maintenance and Workshop year planning as well as detailed scope of work and planning schedules for specific Rotating Equipment.Good verbal (presentation) and written communication skills in English.-
