Senior Environmental Engineer

As a technical expert in environmental sustainability, you will provide assistance to the Head in leading the development and implementation of environmental strategies for our clients. You are also their sustainability advisor in the areas of waste management, renewable energy, recycling, pollution reduction and pollution prevention and carbon accounting through our Singapore Green Labelling Scheme (SGLS), environmental certifications and consultancy projects. You are to provide assistance to the Head in the overall management of the SGLS product category development and accreditation evaluation by assessing, analysing and collating environmental performance data and validation with key industry players.

**Key Responsibilities/Duties**

**Environmental Certifications - Product category development**
- Assist in leading the development of new product categories in areas of waste management, renewable energy, recycling, pollution reduction, pollution prevention, carbon accounting and etc.
- Provide assistance in oversight of the process of criteria development from draft criteria development to industry and committee review to create the final product category document.
- Research in the latest technology to keep in pace with evolving environmental landscape.
- Analyse SGLS data for relevant business situations and proactively evaluate, and address key business issues, drivers and growth opportunities.
- Provide assistance to ensure the compliance of environmental certification review and approval is according to the code of practice under the ISO 14024 and ISO 17065 framework.
- Maintain high standard of certification for SGLS Green Label products through site audits.
- Assist in management of site auditor and assessment of Green Label for delivery of audit services.
- Assist in effectively manage the daily operation for review and assessment of the SGLS and environmental certifications based on monthly targets.
- Assist in preparation of reports on SGLS and environmental certifications monthly certification targets.
- Assist in supervising the implementation of the policies and procedures related to environmental certifications.
- Respond to complaints and appeal related to environmental certifications.

**Consultancy Projects**
- Work with the Business Development team to assess and implement projects.
- Provide technical inputs.
- Assist in drafting reports for clients.

**Secretariat to prepare for Audits for the different accreditation schemes eg GENICES, ISO17065, ISEAL**
- Assist in managing and coordinating all activities related GENICES to ensure timely submission of GENICES report and handbook.
- Review report and handbooks in compliance to the GENICES requirements.
- Schedule and assist in leading discussions at meetings on matters pertaining to GENICES.

**Assistant Business Leader**
- Assist in leading the partnership with internal stakeholders to ensure that the sales targets and grow strategy are achieved.
- Implement intervention to mitigate risks and close sales gaps.
- Assist in reporting SGLS and environmental certifications monthly sales targets.

**Others**
- Help out at major SEC events.
- Any other duties assigned by the Executive Director from time to time.

**Job Requirements**
- Degree in Environmental, Civil or Chemical Engineering or other.

relevant engineering degrees.
- Passion for the environment.
- Between 5 and 7 years’ working experience as a practicing engineer.
- In-depth knowledge of local and global environmental issues will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of ISO 14001 Certification.
- Knowledge of Sustainability Reporting / GRI will be looked upon favorably.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct Life-cycle assessment (LCA) or Demonstrated ability to manage an Environmental Impact Assessment project.
- Keen technical research & analytical skills.
- Strong stakeholders managing skills; deals tactfully and effectively with differences of opinion, influences rather than directs.
- Creative and able to work independently.
- Ability to communicate with people at all levels in both technical and non-technical environments.
- Good command of English and well-versed with MS Office.
- Demonstrated ability to execute multiple projects and excel in a results oriented environment.
- Strong team player.
