The primarily area of responsibility is Auto Material Damage claims estimating, which means that the Staff Appraiser/Surveyor is a field based position.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
Conduct physical survey of accident vehicles on site
Independently put up accurate damage assessment estimate
Usage of computerized estimating software
Provide automotive technical advice to team members.
Monitor repair shop’s performance
**Position Requirements**:
Ability to accurate write estimates for damages resulting from Fire, Theft, Flood and Collision losses.
Ability to make accurate repair Vs replacement decisions during the estimating process.
Ability to review demand and desk estimates.
Strong computer skills necessary.
Effective negotiations and communication skills.
Ability to do extensive field work, transportation is a requirement.
Ability to maintain accurate and complete records
Maintain current knowledge of vehicle construction trends (advanced metals, electronics, refinishes, SRS, options etc.)
Able to differentiate mechanical problems from accident-related problems.
Knowledge of resources for recalls and safety bulletins.
Knowledge of steering and suspension systems.
Strong verbal, written communication, listening and negotiating skills
Strong Customer Service and Complaint resolution skills
Qualifications and Experience
Degree or Diploma in any discipline
Diploma in Automobile Engineering will be an added advantage
Some relevant experience as a Motor Assessor / Surveyor
CGI Certification with sound automotive technical knowledge
Possess own transport
Good Team Player
Able to make sound and decisive decisions under pressure.
Effective negotiations and communication skills
Good computer skills.
