Director, Governance

This role will be responsible for leading governance and regulatory change management and will involve the coordination and implementation of regulatory changes across APAC for the Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS) business. The role reports to the Managing Director, TTS APC In Business Risk. The role holder will have the responsibility of overseeing and directing the regional governance and regulatory change risk initiatives across the region, working to support and execute on expectations from regulators and key stakeholders, developing and ensuring a strong and consistent global control environment. This is a specialist role that proactively supports the TTS Business Head in managing and mitigating regulatory risks and executing risk and control responsibilities in these areas. This role works closely with partners across the TTS business and our functional partners in ICRM, Independent Risk, Internal Audit, ORM, ICG Controls, and Legal. **The role holder will**: - Gain understanding of core product management activities across the APAC TTS business - Develop exposure to governance, risk and regulatory frameworks influencing the strategic direction of the TTS Business - Have significant cross functional exposure as well as interaction with senior management across TTS APAC and globally **Key responsibilities include**: - Understand, assess and dimension the impact of regulatory changes on TTS products and client interactions - Drive the planning and implementation of regulatory changes to meet key deliverables - Manage and coordinate governance reporting across the region and ensure all risk and controls matters are dealt with effectively and efficiently in a consistent manner - Coordination with countries across APAC to ensure timely reporting - Regional point of contact for governance, regulatory and audit reviews - Work in conjunction with the TTS global and regional regulatory change management team as part of a holistic approach across the global TTS business - Direct and manage regular forums related to governance and regulatory changes - Management of regulatory inventory mapping across the region in consultation with country and compliance teams - Manage relationships with key partners including Compliance, Risk, Operations, Tax, Technology and Client teams - Help drive and deliver global standardization of governance and regulatory change risk controls - Partner with 2LOD compliance teams to understand thematic trends across the APAC region and strengthen controls where required - Highlight external and emerging risks and works with the business to mitigate and manage exposures - Responsible for understanding the impacts of change across region including developing and maintaining regulatory change dashboards for TTS APAC - Provide guidance and direction to business and product partners, clusters and countries to ensure they deliver against milestones and track their progress - Identify and manage key risks and issues, provide regular updates to governance forums and drive the communications agenda with clients and client facing teams - Lead training and best practice cross-functional governance and regulatory change activities **Qualifications**: - 15+ years experience in financial services; experience leading analytical teams is required, including managerial experience - Experience managing teams with broad accountability in a complex environment. Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional organization Ability to balance strategic priorities with tactical actions Proven track record and accountability in making quick decision that have an immediate impact on business financials. - Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level.
