Job Description & Requirements

**Basic requiremnts**:
・In principle, the job requires protecting shipowners’ interest as commercial manager of vessel operation.

・The job requires daily communication with a head office in Japan. Language used in the communication will be mainly in Japanese. Hence the person requires fluent writing/speaking skills in the Japanese language, hopefully as the same level as a native.

・The job requires daily communication with a technical managers’ office in Singapore/New Delhi. Language used in the communication will be in English. Hence the person requires fluent writing/speaking skills in the English language.

･ Since the company is a ship owning company, shipping terms are frequently used/referred to. Hence having a shipping background would be helpful.

･ To solve some commercial problems ,the jobs requires to consult with law firms. Hence the logical thinking and skills shall be required and also the experiences and/or knowledge of maritime law would be helpful.

・This job position may require management skills as the person will be having some subordinates who need guidance/instructions from time to time.

・ This Job position requires team work / coordination / problem-solving skills as sometime some project to be conducted by team works and you may need to guide subordinates.

・ Punctuality in work is required as clients/custmers have their strict timeline to follow. Hence some OT (without any OT charge) is required to get the job done if needed.

・ Likewise, strong sense of responsibility is required as you take charge to conduct as a person in charge of assigned vessels and to guide subordinates and face clients.

**Vessels’ operation part**

1. Grasping each vessel’s schedule/itinerary, and be prepared for the necessary operational events as such loading/bunkering/discharging/dry-docking.

2. Checking if the given Voyage Order and each Charterers’ request on case by case basis are as per Charter Party and if acceptable or not as shipowners.

3. Consulting Hull & Machinery Japanese underwriter in case of accidents and to arrange the additional premium.

4. Consulting P&I Club in case of dispute with Charterer. And also if any conflicts/arguments between parties sometime to be discussed with lawyers.

5. Managing vessels’ hire income, Charterers’ disbursement, etc.

6. Managing vessels’ budget to find the financial result of each vessels.If any huge variance between budget and actual, to check and confirm the reason with the ship manager as Owner.

7. Visiting vessels to check their condition and maintenance status as Owners.

8. Reporting to head office / joint venture partners in Japanese periodically/from time to time as necessary.

9. Establishing or assisting New Building vessels’ project or Sale & Purchase project.

10. Answer inquiries from Japan offices

11. Attending meeting or seminar of internal/third party to deepen its maritime/shipping experience and knowledge

12. Other adhoc jobs

**Sales part**

1. Prepare OPEX and CAPEX budget for new vessels. With it, to consider the project shall be manageable or not

2. Prepare annual budget every year basis from the Ship manager to handle and grip the vessels’ financial result. Some vessels’ result shall be reported to Joint Venture partners of Japan regularly.

3. Visit clients to introduce the company and group companies

4. Attending clients’ lunch / dinners / seminars if required

**2. SKILLS**

1. English writing/speaking/listening.

2. Japanese writing/speaking/listening.

3. Documents preparation by using computer (word, excel, power point)

4. Communication skills with regard to marine/technical matters

5. Negotiation skills with all the concerned parties.

6. Coordination skills with all the concerned parties as such affiliates company in Japan, JV partner in Japan/Singapore, ship managers in Japan/Singapore/India.
