Assistant Workshop Manager

1. Responsible for the day to day operations of the workshop.
2. Assist the Workshop Manager to supervise and deploy of the team of engineers, mechanics, technicians and fitters at the workshop, offsite, or on the Company’s fleet of vessels.
3. Responsible for the purchase and acquisition of necessary tools, instruments and spares required for the efficient and effective functioning of the workshop.
4. Co-ordinate with Workshop Manager to understand on appropriate technical advice to provide to the Shipping Department and other Department Heads for repair and maintenance of Company property (including vessels).
5. Ensure that applicable company policies, state and international regulations are complied with.
6. Monitor budget control for ongoing time and material cost for each job.
7. Responsible for the quality of service and repair works as well as safety in the workshop.
8. Plan and ensure that repair work is completed within certain timeframe.
9. Manage workload of each workshop member and ensure safe working environment.
10. Organize and cooperate with third party for achieve resolution for day to day vessel issues.
11. Perform other technical tasks as assigned by Workshop Manager.
12. Any adhoc duties as assigned by Workshop Manager.
**Job Requirements**
Diploma in Maritime or relevant qualification
Minimum at least 10 years of experience in related area, and 5 years in management level
Ability to manage a team of mechanics and technicians to work safely and efficiently
Proficient in MS Office is a must
