**Key Responsibilities:
**Safety Analysis**:

- Conduct hazard analysis, risk assessments, and safety integrity level (SIL) assessments to identify potential safety risks associated with products and systems.
- Perform Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) to evaluate the impact of potential failures on system safety.

**Compliance and Standards**:

- Ensure compliance with relevant functional safety standards, such as ISO 26262, IEC 61508, or other industry-specific standards applicable to the domain. Knowledge of MIL-STD-882 and TR68 is a plus.
- Keep abreast of evolving safety standards and regulations to ensure continuous compliance.

**Safety Requirements**:

- Develop and define functional/ system safety requirements for products and systems, considering both hardware and software aspects.
- Collaborate with design and development teams to integrate safety requirements into the overall product development process.

**Verification and Validation**:

- Establish and execute safety validation plans to verify that safety requirements are met throughout the development lifecycle.
- Witness safety testing, including fault injection and simulation, to validate safety measures.

**Documentation**:

- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to functional safety, including safety plans, reports, and safety cases.
- Ensure that safety documentation aligns with industry standards and best practices.

**Cross-functional Collaboration**:

- Work closely with hardware and software development teams, as well as other relevant stakeholders, to address safety concerns and implement safety measures.
- Provide guidance and support to project teams to foster a safety-conscious development environment.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field.
- Proven experience in functional / system safety engineering, preferably in industries such as automotive, defense, or industrial automation.
- Familiarity with safety standards such as ISO 26262, IEC 61508, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of safety analysis techniques, including FMEA and FTA.
- Experience with safety-critical systems and knowledge of hardware and software safety mechanisms.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience in product development is a plus
- Experience in intelligent transportation and/or autonomous vehicle system development is preferred
- Certification in functional safety (e.g., CFSP) is a plus
- Certification in WSH Level B and above is a plus
- Knowledge in MIL-STD-882 and TR68 is a plus
- SOTIF, robotics experience is highly desirable
