**Job Role**:
As the **Assistant Chief Engineer**, you will support the Chief Engineer in overseeing all maintenance, safety, and engineering operations of the hotel. You will play an essential role in both the pre-opening phase and ongoing operations, ensuring the hotel's technical functions operate smoothly, safely, and efficiently.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assist the Chief Engineer in managing all engineering, maintenance, and facility operations.
- Support all pre-opening engineering activities, including contractor handovers, commissioning, snagging, and setup.
- Implement and manage preventive maintenance programs for all hotel systems, including guest rooms, back-of-house, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing.
- Supervise daily operations, lead the technical team, and ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Ensure compliance with Singapore’s building codes, fire safety, workplace safety, and Marriott brand standards.
- Respond promptly to breakdowns, repair needs, and guest requests.
- Manage work orders, assign tasks, and monitor completion timelines.
- Assist with budget tracking, cost control, procurement, and vendor management.
- Support the Chief Engineer in driving energy-saving initiatives and sustainability practices.
- Lead emergency responses related to engineering and safety.
- Provide hands-on support when needed for repairs, troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks.Train, guide, and develop team members to maintain operational excellence.

**Job Requirements**:

- Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in a similar engineering role within the hospitality industry.
- Previous experience in a 4- or 5-star hotel; pre-opening experience is highly preferred.
- Experience working with international hotel brands is an advantage.
- Strong technical knowledge of M&E systems, HVAC, fire protection, plumbing, and kitchen equipment.
- Familiarity with local building codes, fire safety regulations, and workplace safety standards.
- Effective leadership skills, able to supervise, motivate, and develop a technical team.
- Hands-on, solution-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.Ability to handle pressure and adapt to fast-changing operational needs.
