JOB TITLE: Global Procurement Assistant Manager - Paper & Board Feedstock LOCATION: Singapore MAIN JOB PURPOSE Woodbased packaging is the largest portfolio within packaging procurement with an annual spend of 1.3 billion€, feedstock of wood based packaging refers to the paper and board, which accounts for more than 50% of the cost of a paper based packaging. An intervention in the supply chain is absolutely required, to buy feedstock on our own and to better understand the traceability of wood based material. As a member of the global woodbased packaging procurement team, you will support the Procurement Manager and the Team to develop and lead the implementation of the portfolio procurement strategy to deliver business targets and objectives. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Driving Paper and board sourcing Strategy: - Manage the sourcing of feedstock for paper packaging (corrugated boxes and folding cartons) for the markets in scope. - Understanding paper and board market, Supply and Demand factors and refreshing the regional Supplier Strategy for the portfolio - Study the import and export scenario for board and cost benchmarking among existing suppliers - Develop strong relationship with global and regional suppliers. Analyze their capabilities and cost competitiveness to develop long term supplier strategies for the region - Ensure competitive buying through should-cost model analysis, feedstock covers, market price movement monitoring. - Deliver Cash & Cost Reduction opportunities via excellent market understanding, strategy implementations, negotiation skills, new supplier introduction. - Lead bidding exercise, request for proposal (RFQ), proposal analysis, and support in negotiations with key suppliers - Drive sustainability agenda by ensuring that we source 100% PEFC and FSC certified paper &board and leading the UAPL FSC/ PEFC audit. Understand how the certification scheme works. - Support the business with accurate price forecasting, including market price trends and future market trends to enable proper budgeting and price forecasting. - Strong passion in sustainability, and drive the project to move plastic packaging to paper packaging - Roll out portfolio initiatives, e.g. ASA/AMA, Resilience, Market development - Drive and maintain close collaboration across global, region and local levels in Procurement and R&D-teams for effective execution and delivery of defined actions - Support innovation projects through strong collaboration with R&D, supply chain and procurement team in the market. - Work with R&D teams to deliver the next generation of Packaging (e.g. paper bottle, etc) by creating and executing the technology and innovation agenda Operations: - Work with the Capgemini team based in India, for the buy and sell orders through UAPL. - Support in the resolution of supply and operational issues. - Review/ monitor monthly feedstock order quantities from packaging convertors to paper feedstock suppliers to ensure supply continuity. - Implement contracts on-time in system and ensuring high service levels to packaging convertors. - Ensuring compliance of RSP, Contracting, Quality and service in collaboration with cross-functional teams. - Track projects and support implementation plan to ensure projects to be delivered on the KPIs. - Own and drive continuous improvement and operational excellence in procurement processes. KEY REQUIREMENTS Knowledge/Skills: - Minimal Bachelor’s Degree - >5 years of experience in Procurement, SC functions - Experience in and understanding of business processes, and managing complexity - Experience in Cross Functional working, or working experience with/in R&D - Experience in Project management, organized and able to multitask - High level Business acumen and negotiation skills - Analytical and sharp with numbers - Fluent in business English - Supply Market Intelligence and Analysis (e.g. establish understanding & analyze of portfolios and underlying markets), understanding of the economy, supply & demand - New Supplier Development and onboarding - Strong communications skills and ability to engage and influence others - Have business, organizational, strategic and cultural awareness - Competence in Microsoft tools, especially Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, Power BI Competencies: - Self-starter with strong accountability, responsibility and leadership skills - Good negotiation skills - Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a good eye for detail - Stakeholder management - Strong on execution, energetic and be pro-active - Able to build relationship with people across functions, cultures, geographies, and companies - Multi-level communication and being a good team player - Able to work independently and virtually - Be curious and have a strong desire to learn and adopt new tools and approaches TO APPLY
