**Your role**
- Do you have a strong risk and analytical mind and extensive experience in operational risk management in a large-scale, complex organization either in the business or in a control function? Are you a senior leader that is confident when it comes to speaking up for what is right and challenging at all levels?
- be responsible for driving a strong operational risk culture across all business divisions and functions of the bank in the 13 countries in which we operate in the APAC region
- provide independent oversight and challenge to the first line of defense for operational risks
- provide oversight of Group Functions’ compliance with rules and regulations in the region
- provide comprehensive transparency on all material operational risks in the APAC region and ensure issues are escalated and ‎reported to the required level of authority
- effectively report existing and emerging risks and ensure adequate actions are taken
- develop strong working relationships with Group Functions management and regulators in APAC, highlighting and mitigating ‎Group Function specific operational risks and issues, and where required act as an ‎escalation point for significant operational risk issues
- work with a diverse team of operational risk professionals and proactively influence the effective planning and execution of the global operational risk mandate in the region

**Your team**
- You can be based in Singapore or Hong Kong, and will report to the Global Head of Operational Risk Control (ORC) & Global Head Compliance & Operational Risk (C&ORC) for Group Functions. As the APAC Head of ORC you are responsible for the overall leadership and execution of the operational ‎risk control mandate (including business engagement and utilization of resources) in the region working in partnership with the Divisional ORC heads. In addition, as the APAC Head of C&ORC for Group Functions, you'll play an important role in helping us develop risk mitigating measures, controls and adequate remediation plans in respect of identified risks impacting Group Functions.

**Your expertise**
- strong operational risk expertise, ideally 10+ years of direct, relevant experience in the risk management or business line operating office with compliance and control disciplines ‎related to the financial services industry ‎
- strong knowledge of applicable regulations and industry best practices
- sound knowledge of the regulatory environment, and proven experience in interacting with regulators
- knowledge of operational risk topics including (but not limited to) cyber and information security, data, technology, third party, business continuity, financial and regulatory reporting as well as emerging risks in the financial services industry
- ability to understand and quickly grasp complex financial arrangements, commercial activities and operational arrangements within the business and challenge with an independent mindset
- strong risk mindset and experience working in a dynamic and complex matrix organization
- team-orientated mindset with strong interpersonal and communication skills, resilient and the ability to ‎manage conflict and pressure in a demanding environment
- able to network and influence across the organization to deliver key business objectives
