a) COOK

ensures the provision

of well-balanced and

nutritious meals and

snacks within budget

guidelines which meet

the needs of the

children in care and

HPB

Maintains an

organized, functioning

and hygienic kitchen.

Demonstrates care and

interest in children,

encourages a positive

attitude towards food

and nutrition; may

assist with supervision

of children at meal

time.

Performs duties in

accordance with the

guidelines and core

values and the

mandate of AceKidz

centres

Consults with the Principal regarding menu plans; and notes any

changes daily; maintains a current list of children with special

health and cultural dietary food needs and plans and provides

acceptable alternatives.

Prepares meal and snack in accordance with AceKidz Menu and

serving in compliance with health regulations; assists in serving

meals to children, when required.

Maintains food and kitchen household supplies by receiving and

storing deliveries in hygienic and organized conditions and

monitoring stock.

Rotates food stock to ensure quality; keeps accurate stock

control for record-keeping purposes.

Food Handling Certificate

Primary or Secondary

School, Basic Literacy in

English/Mandarin

Certificate or Diploma

related to cooking would be

an asset

Qualified experiences in

cooking for groups and

operating a kitchen

Attends housekeeping

Knowledge of basic

principles of good

nutrition and special

dietary requirements

Basic knowledge of

housekeeping

Ability to prepare and

serve balanced meals

and snacks for children

Ability to operate within

budget guidelines, shop

economically and be

organized

b) CLEANER

To ensure the centre

is left in a clean,

hygienic, safe and

secure state at the

end of shift, ensuring

all hazards have

been removed and

doors secured.

To sweep and mop floors daily.

To clean, dust and disinfect sinks, basins, countertops,

toilets, mirrors, windows, doors and floors, tables and

chairs

Ensure toilets and hand wash basins throughout the centre

are stocked toilet paper and hand soap.

To empty all waste, rubbish and recyclables in the

appropriate disposal area.

To ensure all cleaning products are stored safely in the

designated cupboards.

Attend, participate and

support during staff

briefings, meetings and

events as assigned by

Principal

Updating of job

knowledge through on

the job training,

To be aware of and act

within the guidelines of

AceKidz risk assessment

Show a willingness to

undertake additional

roles to meet the

needs of the centre

and other duties as

required within the

scope and spirit of the

job.
