Technical Consultant

**Job Purpose**

**Primary Job Responsibilities**:

- Perform/Lead innovative Delivery Services for Hitachi managed services customers
- Provide task status information and completion time frame estimates to project managers, always keeping in mind the most effective and efficient way to complete the technical tasks assigned
- Inform the Project Manager when a customer request an activity or deliverable that may be beyond the Statement of Work
- Ensure timely submission of deliverables and strategic presentations as defined in the Statement of Work
- Validate with the Project Manager that the completion expectations have been met
- Share knowledge; autonomously aligning personal contribution to the goals and priorities of the team and business
- Participate in strategic project review sessions to share materials or lessons-learned
- Participate actively in client workshops where appropriate
- Create detailed technical designs from high level solution designs, based on customer requirements analysis
- Assist with creation of new innovative delivery collateral and maintenance of existing delivery collateral
- Build relationships with Engagement Managers, Project Managers, Practice Principals, Solutions Consultants, and Solution Architects engaged in service opportunities
- Build positive relationship with customer stakeholders and ensure that customer technical issues get resolved on priority

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelors or Equivalent Experience.
- Someone with strong Hitachi Content Platform Skills
- Design knowledge on Object Storage Platforms
- Deep understanding on object storage metadata and metadata extraction for search
- Knowledge of Solr Indexing and Search
- At least 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience in dealing with different storage implementation skills including File Block and Object.
- Knowledge and experience on Hitachi Ops Center and Command Suite
- Knowledge and experience on Hitachi VSP storage systems
- Knowledge and experience in storage virtualisation
- Experience on Virtualization products such as VMware, OVM, AWS EC2 will be advantageous.
- Must have knowledge of indexing and search products preferably experience with Hitachi Content Intelligence
- Knowledge and experience in Load Balancer technology will be beneficial
- Strong documentation experience ability to create and maintain LLD, HLD and other design related documentation.
- Understanding around metadata enrichment and content classes for search.
- Understanding of Cloud storage and Protocols (Preferable S3)
- Self-starter who can learn on the job
- Team player who can work in an environment of ambiguity
- Must have good communicate skills
- Must be customer focused
- Must be willing to work flexible hours
- Experience in executing complex migrations.
- Extensive technical consultancy and Service Delivery experience
- Extensive experience in Hitachi technologies or relevant competitor technologies
- Extensive design, implementation and operational knowledge including involvement in the setup, operation and transition of operational teams and managed services
- Appreciation of multiple technology platforms
- Deep understanding of managed infrastructure technologies and how they can be deployed to fit client solution requirements
- Have ability to produce crisp customer presentations and good articulation skills in English - needs to control the flow and delivery of technical content to diverse audiences at customer meetings and seminar
