**About the Company**
Headquartered in Singapore, the client has Tobacco products manufacturing plants in Poland, Indonesia, and several Research and Developments Labs. It is devoted to delivering world-class quality Tobacco products through R&D and its state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities.
Part A: Key Deliverables / About the role
- Incumbent shall report to the Product Development Director/Senior Management.
- The primary objective is to lead the product quality team, create a strategy, processes and objectives that allow for efficient and cost-effective management of leaf buying needs for the YSQ organization globally.
- The person will have accountability for the budgeting and the PPV, purchasing purchase price variance ad quality being some critical KPIs.
Incumbent will have in depth knowledge for tobacco leaf industry, knowledge of tobacco leaf buying in the market, with ability to negotiate with vendors both international and local, to ensure timely delivery in a most cost-efficient manner within the agreed budget.
- The person shall plan, coordinate, collaborate, engage, ensure, and align production/material scheduling and production factory to actualize production plans are maintained at optimum level.
- The person will also provide clear understanding and coordinating of product requirements, schedule, storage, specifications and parameters, crewing, working cross functionally, liaising with respective teams such as production, packaging, quality, blends, flavors and material purchasing team from start of production to schedule delivery/acceptance etc.
Part B: Responsibilities and Duties
- Communicates effectively with management and all levels within the organization on specifications, standards, and product quality related issues
- Coordinates, investigates, records, and communicates corrective actions for non-conformances to eliminate root causes and prevent recurrences
- Utilizes analytical thinking in consideration of product and process designs to ensure advanced quality planning tools are utilized in the development process
- Together with Product Development department conducts research on the customer experience to support product design, material defect or operator execution error and drives solutions based on root cause analysis
- Manages the auditing and quality approval of engineering design, samples, supplier components, and manufactured products
- Develops Key Performance Indicators, maintains internal Key Performance Indicator metrics, communicates to management, and develops improvement strategies
- Monitors, updates, and maintains all quality program documentation and procedures and lead sensory activities.
- Effectively collaborates with product development, industrialization, manufacturing, sourcing, sales teams to improve and maintain product quality
- Drives continuous improvement of performance data, uses the data to determine key opportunities for improvement, and collaborates with other team members to drive improvement
- Expereince in entire sensory process, generating and submission of smoking reports
- Have experience in blends and its blending processes as well as tobacco flavors
- Any other tasks / projects assigned by immediate superior in Senior Management
Part C: Qualifications & Requirements (Education, Experience, Skills, Knowledge,Etc)
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or Quality required, or any related discipline
Part D: Specific Requirements (Mandatory for the role)
- 10+ years in a manufacturing environment (tobacco or food preferred)
5+ years of prior experience in Quality people leadership for a consumer products manufacturer (FMCG, manufacturing)
- Excellent leadership and communication skills (written and verbal)
Experience in implementation of advanced quality planning tools and layered process auditing, project management in a cross-functional team and leading kaizen attitudes
- Experience in working in a multinational environment
