Our facility in Singapore has key functions in research and development, procurement, sales and finance for our Lighting and Detection business lines, in addition to key functions related to our Optics Manufacturing capabilities.

We are presently seeking a **R&D Engineer** that will responsible for Analytical Guided Arc Xenon Lighting Product Transfer and NPI (New Product Introduction).

Main responsibilities:

- Drive the development and design transfer for Analytics Lighting products from Salem to Batam, work with Salem counterparts interfacing with Batam Manufacturing team to ensure successful transfer and ultimately lead to mass production in Batam;
- Documentation creation and conversion;;
- Coordinate and prioritize equipment transfers/CAPEX requirements to ensure timely production transfers as required;
- Provide technical leadership to manage and realize product/process transfer timeline and critical paths to meet transfer objective and target;
- Work with Salem/Batam Manufacturing teams to review process capability and transfer plan;
- 30% of travel to Batam/USA will be required during this phase to kick off the production transfers;
- Determine and develop manufacturing processes by studying process transfer requirements, researching, designing, adapting manufacturing methods and equipment within the transfer scope;
- Provide technical support to Batam production transfer team on production equipment set up and critical parameter setting to ensure manufacturability using Measurement System Analysis (MSA/GR&R), Process Failure Mode Space requirement and equipment layout (Lean concept);
- Improve manufacturing efficiency (capacity & productivity) by analyzing and planning work-flow and equipment layout;
- Engage in development research/competitor analysis as input to future technical roadmap and conceptual design and research;
- Improve manufacturing efficiency (capacity & productivity) by analyzing and planning workflow and equipment layout;
- Manage and lead customers’ sample requests;
- Work with Batam team to assure product and process quality (yield) by designing reliable methods, process capabilities and standardize document (WI, FMEA, PCP);
- Drive improvement program through 6sigma/Lean activities.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor of Science or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, Optical Engineering, Material Science, Physics or a related discipline;
- At least 5 years in a related industry or occupation is preferred;
- Knowledge of hermetic sealing, high temperature processes, optics and light measurement, thermal modelling, and controlled atmosphere brazing are preferred;
- Knowledge of furnace brazing, vacuum deposition and processes;
- Extensive travel between USA and Batam.
