Planner-Buyer

Location: Jurong East

5 days work, 8am - 5pm

Job Responsibilities:
This position requires the ability to plan, maintain and analyze production and sales requirements, compare progress to schedule, resolve scheduling conflicts, assess data and coordinate solutions. Accountable for purchasing materials, supplies and services within established limits and quality, quantity and price guidelines.

**Responsibilities & Duties**:

- Plan products in JDE utilizing MRP. Open and manage production Work Order packages.
- Manage material shortages for production build and communicate status to management.
- Compile information and records to prepare purchase orders in accordance with proper procedures.
- Interview and confer with vendors to obtain product or service information, such as price availability, and delivery schedule for various countries across asia
- Communicate with Supply Chain Manager and Production Supervisors and Leads to determine status of production orders.
- Set and maintain product master and planning fields in JDE.
- Attend Production Meetings to provide detailed updates on the plan and manage promise dates.
- Maintain manual or computerized procurement records, such as items or services purchased, cost, delivery, product quality or performance and inventories.
- Expedient outstanding orders on a daily basis.
- Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
- Select and order merchandise from showings by representatives or purchase items on open market.
- Review customer requirements with Customer Service and convey promise dates.
- Coordinate stock issues and outages.
- Setup and maintain a master schedule based on customer requirements to drive MRP.

**Qualification**:

- 2+ years of planning /scheduling /purchasing experience in an MRP-driven manufacturing environment.
- Strong organization and time-management skills.
- Ability to work as part of cross-functional teams.
- Good understanding of Materials Requirement Planning (MRP)
- Ability to interpret and follow a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- Ability to effectively work with employees, supervisors, vendors and customers.
