**Purpose**

Medley Advisors, an EA Group business, is looking for an experienced markets analyst to cover North Asia encompassing Greater China (China, Hong Kong, Taiwan) South Korea and Japan. In this role you will be working from either our Tokyo or Singapore offices. Medley Advisors, a division of EA Group, has been a leading macro policy research service for the world’s top hedge funds, asset managers, banks and institutional investors for more than 25 years. Our expertise combines central banking, government finance, trade, and political/geopolitical risk. Medley helps its blue-chip clients anticipate policy decisions and political shocks and to integrate its intelligence into their investment decisions.

**Duties**

You will work in our Singapore or Tokyo office with a core focus on:

- Analyzing developments and formulating guidance on North Asia equity, bond, and FX market
trends, with a core focus on mainland China.
- Collaborating with the APAC macro policy team on thematic research.

Day to day, you will:

- Closely monitor market developments in North Asia especially in China with a focus on those of high interest to global investors.
- Write short, market-oriented, actionable position reports.
- Discuss these issues with a local and global institutional-investor clientele.

**Requirements**:
Typically, your experience will be in financial markets and be able to demonstrate:

- Knowledge and interest in macroeconomics, monetary and fiscal policy, financial and energy markets,
- An ability to write clearly in English and Mandarin and be able to boil down complexity into a forward-looking and tradeable “call”.
- The initiative and enthusiasm to develop a network of market contacts to track fast
- changing concerns,
- The confidence and knowledge to guide clients through policy arguments and political analysis and see their market relevance.
