**What the role is**
- The Water and Food Policy Division (WFPD) works closely with the Singapore Food Agency (SFA), and Public Utilities Board (PUB) to formulate, review and implement a broad range of policies and strategies to ensure supply of water and safe food for Singapore. The policy areas under WFPD include: - Ensuring Singapore’s food security and supply resilience;
- Ensuring the food we eat is safe through robust food safety regimes;
- Provision of a reliable and high quality water supply, flood risk management and drainage planning; and - Regulating water sector performance and demand management.

**What you will be working on**
- Senior Exec/Assistant Director (Food Security) Singapore’s food security is ensured through a basket of strategies. First, we import from a well-diversified network of overseas food sources. Second, we aim to raise our local production through the “30 by 30” goal - for our agri-food sector build the capability and capacity to produce 30% of our nutritional needs by 2030, up from less than 10% today. Third, we facilitate our local agri-food companies in expanding overseas so they can export back to Singapore. As food security challenges heighten worldwide, it becomes key how we continue to ensure that Singapore food security and safety regimes remain robust. You will be part of a dynamic, fast-paced team that contributes to the strategic objectives of securing a supply of safe food for Singapore. You will also be involved in policies and joint programmes that intersect with other policy areas within the MSE family, thus contributing to wider sustainability and public health issues. Your key responsibilities include: - Work with partner agencies to formulate and review strategies, policies and legislation/regulations to strengthen Singapore’s food security regime. - Work with communications teams to sharpen public communications plans and messages relating to food security issues. - Engage a wide variety of stakeholders - such as associations/industry players, academics and the public - to push the frontiers of food security. - Perform research and analysis on food security policies, both domestic and international.
