The firm is currently recruiting for an in-housel General Counsel to be based in their Singapore headquarter.

**Roles and Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for firm-wide all aspects of legal, regulatory compliance, and governance, globally covering rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
- Provides strategic guidance, consultation, and support to senior executives on a comprehensive range of legal and compliance issues with respect to firm’s global growth strategies
- Involved in carrying out the strategy of the institution
- Manage external counsels engaged for the firm’s global business
- Coordinate with and support the Management Committee and Human Resources professionals on legal aspects of employee and benefits matters
- Establish key performance objectives and prioritize the activities of the Legal and Compliance team, in alignment with other Global business objectives
- Optimize fund structures and supporting new fund launches
- Anticipate issues and estimate risks strategically
- Evaluate and weigh multiple inputs and impacts of any decision or course of action
- Involved w the day-to-day legal aspects of operational matters such as fund raising, litigation and employment, etc.
- Represent/oversee the representation of the firm in judicial and administrative proceedings, as well as working with other state agencies.
- Opportunity to provide legal support and input into portfolio acquisitions.

**Requirements and experience**:

- 15+ years of experience in global investment management, private equity and/or asset management.
- Strong understanding of Fund formation and Regulatory Compliance in various jurisdictions such as Singapore, US, UK etc.
- Proven leadership and people development experience.
- Strong commercial acumen and global business perspective.
- Highly driven and ambitious self-starter.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Overall broad legal knowledge (corporate law, litigations, labor law, etc)
- In-depth understanding of how legal issues affect organizations
- Ability to develop legal strategy and objectives
- Well-versed in how business operate with financial acumen
- High degree of professional ethics, integrity and gravitas
- Excellent judgement and analytical skills
- Ability to anticipate legal issues or risks and to “see around the corner”
- BSc degree in Law or J.D. degree from reputable universities.
- Professional legal qualification required.
- MA or BSc in Business Administration will be preferred.
