Helmed by Chef-Owner Emmanuel Stroobant, Saint Pierre is a Two Michelin-starred contemporary French restaurant in Singapore with a history of fine dining excellence since 2000. Underpinning Chef Emmanuel’s signature style of modern French cuisine with an Asian accent is an ongoing pursuit to achieve balance, precision and flavour.
Located at One Fullerton, Singapore, the French fine dining restaurant boasts one of the best views of the city, with a floor-to-ceiling panorama of the Marina Bay waterfront.
We are now looking for a Captain Sommelier to join us in our service team.
**Responsibilities**:
- Guide guests in selecting wines that complement their meals, catering to diverse tastes and preferences.
- Assist in welcoming guests, guiding them through the menu, and ensuring their needs are met throughout the dining experience.
- Provide an engaging and educational experience for guests regarding wine selections.
- Maintain a warm, approachable demeanor to ensure guests feel at ease.
- Conduct regular inventory checks, ensuring proper storage and availability of wines.
- Collaborate with chefs to design wine pairings for special menus or events.
- Monitor and manage wine sales, analyzing trends to maximize profitability.
- Lead by example during service, demonstrating expertise and professionalism.
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and serving of wine to maintain quality.
- Oversee the wine cellar, ensuring it adheres to health and safety regulations.
- Develop an understanding of the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and the pairing of wines and other beverages with dishes.
- Help prepare the dining area, including setting tables according to fine dining standards, ensuring tableware is polished and arranged neatly.
- Part of service in delivering food and beverages to tables, ensuring the correct sequence of service, and clearing tables promptly.
- Engage with guests, responding to inquiries or requests in a polite and professional manner.
- Maintain the cleanliness of service areas, ensuring that the dining room and workstations are organized at all times.
**Job Requirements**:
- WSET Level 2 or higher (or equivalent certification).
- Minimum 2 years in a sommelier role, preferably in fine dining or a luxury establishment.
- Strong knowledge of wine regions, styles, and food pairings.
- Sales-driven mindset with experience in upselling and revenue generation.
- Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and tasks
- Ability to handle customers enquiry and service-oriented
- Ability to work independently, team player, Positive and willing to work attitude
