Our client is a global pharmaceutical company. They are currently looking for a Business Development Manager who will be responsible for farming and hunting accounts for the company. They are responsible for ensuring that revenue targets for customers are met through regular face-to-face visits to client sites and overseeing the preparation of proposals for client projects
- You will be based in Singapore or Korea, depending on the applicant's location.
- You will report to the Senior Manager (Vice President).
- 【What will you be working on】- Promote the services offered to the pharmaceutical industry through face-to-face sales calls, attendance at conferences/exhibitions, and cold-calling activities.
- Liaise with multinational pharmaceutical, virtual and biotechnology companies to define their requirements for packaging their products for clinical trials. Advising clients on technical aspects of clinical trial packaging. Provide detailed reports of these activities.
- Ensure that financial and call rate targets are met for all allocated current clients. Meet financial targets for new business development.
- Use the above information to generate detailed proposals to the client, either personally or with the assistance of a Business Development Co-ordinator. This will involve liaising with several internal departments (Project Management, Operations, Design, Logistics, and Procurement) to generate price and lead time information to be presented within the proposal. This will involve the use of Microsoft Windows-based packages (Word, Excel).
- Work with other departments to ensure that clients’ requirements as expressed in the proposal are clearly understood. This will include following up with clients to ensure that any uncertainties that existed at the time of proposal generation are confirmed before work commences.
- Liaise with the Engineering/Design and Operations Departments and clients to produce a packaging design that meets the needs of their study and can be produced efficiently on Clinical Services production equipment. Working directly with suppliers or through purchasing to ensure that any externally purchased components meet the needs of the trial, are competitively priced, and arrive within the required timeframe.
- Either directly, or with the assistance of a Proposal Development Co-ordinator, entry of client and proposal information into the Clinical Services ERP System (COSMOS) to allow accurate and timely generation of invoices upon completion of work. Use of this system to ensure that any materials ordered are accounted for in proposal prices before ordering.
- Work with VP Business Development, Head of Business Development, APAC and other senior management to ensure that business development strategies are implemented. Reporting any shortcomings in the strategy to the VP of Business Development or the Head of Business Development, APAC so that strategies can be amended promptly.
- Share market information (customer contacts, reasons for lost orders, competitor intelligence, information on client companies) with the VP of Business Development and other members of the Business Development team.
- Maintain up-to-date information on nominated accounts and any sales leads in the CRM system (SalesForce). It will be the responsibility of each BDM to ensure that all accounts they are responsible for or have had any involvement in are kept up to date.

- At least 5-8 years of consultative business development and sales experience in the life science, technology or clinical development industries
- Experience in direct sales and quotation preparation in life sciences/technology
- Proficient in English and Korean (TOPIK 6) is required to liaise with English and Korean business partners and stakeholders.
- Experience working with CRM systems (Salesforce)
- Experience in clinical trials, specifically related to clinical trial packaging and logistics.**English Level**:
