**Private Equity Analyst/Associate
**Overview**

The Sylvan Group is a mid-market private equity firm with equity tickets of US$25m to US$75m, and an ESG impact programme that focuses on growth capital/buyouts investments in mid-market companies in Asia Pacific, with a focus on Singapore, Malaysia, Korea, Thailand, and Indonesia.

**Purpose/Overview of the Job**

The Analyst is a junior level position within the business and will be focused on intensive financial modelling related to acquisitions / value growth projects as well as support tasks

Primary tasks will include financial modelling, industry and company research (desktop and other financial / investment literature sources), subscriptions management, service provider engagemet, data gathering and analysis as well as project management / administration

**Responsibilities**:

- Perform market, macro-level industry & sector research; assist in identifying investment opportunities
- Build and modify models for investment programme cash flow projection, fund cash flows and return analysis
- Managing and updating the deal pipeline
- Liaise with stakeholders and service providers from a knowledge / data / information gathering perspective to ensure that the requisite information / data is available
- Assist in monitoring, managing and reporting on the performance and activities within the fund’s portfolio companies
- Engage with service providers to perform valuations of portfolio companies
- Engage with due diligence providers for services in deal evaluation
- Prepare investment memorandums and present recommendations and due diligence findings to investment committee
- Support fundraising efforts for future funds and portfolio companies
- Development of pitch books and support in fund raising processes
- Perform additional related duties as assigned
- Interact and build relationships with peers and where appropriate clients and third party vendors

**Requirements**:

- Degree from a good, recognised university
- At least 2 years of relevant Corporate Finance or direct experience in Private Equity (minimum 3 years for the Associate Position), with strong knowledge on private market investments
- Strong in financial analysis and financial modelling
- Keen eye for details and self-starter, able to multi-task, with a focus on delivering results
- Ability to communicate and persuade effectively (both written and spoken)
- Possess astute commercial sense, strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Team player, adaptable and willing to learn

**Main Responsibilities**
- Assist the team/stakeholders in making informed decisions on investment opportunities
- Perform macro-level industry research and quantitative analysis to support portfolio construction
- Prepare investment memos and conduct due diligence on prospective investment opportunities
- Compile performance data and perform portfolio analysis and benchmarking
