Production Specialist

This position will be responsible for refilling of Specialty gas, operate, maintain and carry out troubleshooting for gas blending station. He/ she shall have high standard of safety and environmental awareness. A team player with effective communication skills and customer oriented. He/ she shall demonstrate an on-going willingness to learn by keeping abreast of new developments in gases and chemical industries and is expected to perform well under pressure.

**PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- Responsible for all refilling of Specialty gas mixtures. He/she shall review all incoming orders and schedule the blending jobs. He shall ensure that the prepared RTs be ready at the blending booth in a timely manner.
- Ensure that all cylinder inspection & refilling process are carried out as per operation procedure and work instruction and all specialty gas products cylinders are distinctly identified to standards.
- He/she must ensure that all blending jobs are finished within the guaranteed lead-time. Should there be problem meeting the deadlines, he/she should inform the production supervisor and communicate the delay to the customer service office department (CSO). If there is product failure, he/she shall liaise with Quality Control (QC) laboratory personnel to do investigation and to decide the corrective actions.
- Management of customer complaints and other quality non-conformance issues - both internal (rejects) and external (customer complaints) by identifying root causes, taking corrective actions, and standardizing new work procedures to prevent recurrence.
- Direct consultation with customers and suppliers regarding all operational aspects including technical and commercial issues.
- The personnel shall continuously seek technical solution of increasing efficiency and plant capacity. Review the operating procedures and work instructions to ensure them timeliness communicate constantly with the QC to seek better ways of improving product quality and increase efficiency.
- Implements good manufacturing operations and gives training in this aspect to achieve process stability.
- Ensures that the incident rate in the plant is maintained at zero all the time, in terms of damage to assets and injuries to personnel.
- Ensures that the housekeeping standards are maintained.
- The Production Specialist shall monitor the usage of raw materials. He/she shall submit a monthly raw materials consumption report to production supervisor in the first week of every month.
- He/she shall manage the maintenance of plant equipment in the Spec Gas plant by Planning the calibration program of scales and balances and maintenance program for other equipment.
- Maintaining updated records of the calibration program.
- Check that all other equipment and piping are in good operational conditions.
- Implementing EHS Program in Basic Safety Process, job safety analysis, near miss report and adaptive preventive techniques.
- Ensure all operations are performed within strict safety, quality and environmental Guidelines while striving for optimum efficiency.
- Provide Technical Service/support to the Sales and customers
- Develop the Packaged & Specialty Gases Center ISO 9001 system and ensure the ISO system be followed as documented.
- To follow other tasks assigned by the supervisor/team leader and the plant manager.

**JOB REQUIREMENT**:

- Degree in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering//Chemical Process Technology/Biological Engineering/Life Sciences/Material Science/Material Engineering
- Minimum 2 years in Gas/Chemical industry preferably.
- Takes initiative and is proactive in learning
- Possesses strong problem-solving skills. Able to act and make sound decisions independently.
- Good communication skills, good verbal and written English
- Proficiency in MS Windows and Office
- Sound SAP knowledge/experience will be a plus
- A team player with good interpersonal skills
