About the role: Senior Underwriter (Upstream Energy)

Key Responsibilities:

- Underwriting and handling large and medium, multi-national and complex accounts.
- Evaluate risk submissions in accordance with AXIS underwriting philosophy, guideline and authority level.
- Adopt discipline approach to risk evaluation, assessment and pricing.
- Using risks insights, data and model to drive informed underwriting decisions.
- Proactively seek renewal and new opportunities
- Develop strategic plan and detailed opportunity assessment with key distributors to identify growth opportunities and ensure it is executed
- To register and monitor risk aggregation in the system
- To set accurate, realistic premium forecasts and business plans
- Prepare monthly submission count and quarterly performance reporting
- Complying and assisting on both internal (e.g. Peer Review, Sanction, ESG, Contract Certainty, etc) and external audits.
- To assist in training and development of Underwriting Assistant
- To work closely with other business functions including the London Upstream Energy team to build a more cohesive and integrated approach.
- Liaising with various parties (operations team, accounting department, brokers) for premium issues such as premium reconciliation, outstanding premiums, and other accounting issues.

Required Education & Experience:

- Diploma / Degree holder / ANZIIF / ACII
- At least 5-7 years of experience in underwriting Upstream Energy
- Good working knowledge in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent negotiating, communication and interpersonal skills.
