**Supporting Relationships** - Reports to: Purchasing & Brand Manager - Liaises with: Sales Team, Warehouse Team, Marketing Team, Suppliers, Mothercare Buyers **Purpose** Develop and Implement Strategic Plans to achieve sales, gross profit, incomes and objective of assigned product/industry sector categories **Job Role** Duties & Responsibilities Sourcing and Business Development (20%) - Part-take in sourcing and develop business plans for new brand agencies acquisition - Monitor market-brands and identify new business opportunities - Include participation in expos and atrium sales for sales and consumer research exposure. Inventory, Product Mix, Pricing, Market Penetration, Promotions (80%) - Part-take in negotiations and develop relationships with assigned cluster of suppliers. - Place purchase orders and arrange shipments arrival. - Monitor top line sales, slowing moving and dead stocks to ensure healthy inventory count and stock turn. - Set pricing grid, product mix and promotional plans to that best optimise our business goals and agencies’ agreements. - Lead and develop brand/market plan with Marketing & Sales team to grow the market share and counter competition. - Review and curate an optimum product/brand mix to meet the gaps in consumers’ need. - Conduct trainings to influence stakeholders to take on merchandise in their retail channels. **Key Decisions & Problem Solving** - Strong negotiation and influencer skills required - Analytic mind in understanding price structure, merchandise assortment and inventory count/turn. - Creative mind in developing alternative solutions to meet business needs - Keep current with market and consumers’ development. **BEHAVIOURAL Competencies** - Versatile and self-motivated team player - Independent and ability to adapt in a multi-cultural working environment. - Have good creative ability and an eye for detail - Enthusiasm, initiative and passion for goods distribution. **FUNCTIONAL Competencies** - Knowledge on key business drivers(e.g. pricing, promotion, assortment, margins) - Knowledge on financial retail calculations-markdowns, margins - Expertise knowledge in product category and industry we operate in. - Well-versed in Microsoft office especially Microsoft Excel.
