Sales Area Representative

Home Furnishings Division of Jim Thompson is currently looking for an experienced sales person with a proven track record in growing sales in the industry to support our market expansion in Singapore. In this role, you are expected to forge and reinforce the relationship with our current clients, as well as grow our client base in both residential and hospitality markets, create effective sales strategy and developing new business opportunities. This role is based in Singapore. You will be reporting to Business Development & Partnership Manager.
Jim Thompson is an iconic global lifestyle brand from Thailand with multiple business units. The Home Furnishings Business Unit is an international branch of the company with distribution in over 63 countries worldwide. Our product portfolio ranges from interior têxtiles, wallcovering, trimmings to furniture that is suitable for residential and hospitality/contract sector.
Established in 1950 as a project to revitalize the art of silk weaving by James H.W. Thompson (‘Jim’), we have evolved into a key player in the world of decoration. As the world’s producer of hand‑woven fabrics, especially known for its legendary Thai silks, we constantly look for the new ways to improve the quality and durability. We have also expanded into wallcovering range that pass the highest safety requirement, without compromising the luxurious nature of the designs. Our ranges of high performance indoor/outdoor collection have grown to be one of our best-selling product segment.
**Responsibilities**:
- Serves customers by selling products, serving samples and meeting customer needs.
- Services existing accounts, obtains orders, and establishes new accounts by planning and organising daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales outlets and other trade factors.
- Adjusts content of sales presentations by studying the type of sales outlet or trade factor.
- Focuses sales efforts by studying existing and potential volume of dealers.
- Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses.
- Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, and merchandising techniques.
- Recommends changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
- Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations to management.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Design and implement a strategic business plan that expands company’s customer base, brand awareness and ensure its strong presence in all countries in the responsible sales area/market.
- Achieve sales growth and meet set sales targets by successfully making sales lead and through building strong relationship with clients. Be able to perform sales forecast, proactively update and monitor sales pipe-line and sales-lead.
- Promote Jim Thompson* Home Furnishings product and production capabilities in responsible markets. You role will require you to regularly travel to your responsible markets.
- Identify emerging markets, product trends, price competition and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition to be able to feed back to design and marketing team.

**Requirements**:
- Demonstrated strong ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization in both English verbally and in writing. Mandarin will be a plus.
- Successful previous experience as an experienced sales representative, consistently meeting or exceeding targets.
- Established client network
- Committed to continuous personal and professional development through workshops, seminars and conferences.
- Proven ability to drive the sales process from sales lead to order.
- Strong business sense and industry expertise.
- Be able to travel to meet with our clients in the assigned territories, work weekends and attend trade fairs and meetings in locally and international if necessary.
- Strong sales analysis and presentation skills.
- Team player.
- Experience with interior contract and hospitality market in Singapore market with solid network will be a plus
- B.Sc degree in interior design, architect, marketing, business administration or a related field.
- Will be highly considered if have experience with CRM platform and/or SAP
- This position will be based in Singapore so you must have the rights to work in the country.
**Salary**: Up to $2,000.00 per month
