**What the role is**
- As the Deputy Director leading the sustainment effort of the Weapon Systems and Armament (WS&A) capability in the Platform Systems Sustainment Centre, the job holder will lead the team to plan, develop, execute and maintain the sustainability plans for the WS&A capabilities of MHA. The job holder is expected to explore the new technical capabilities and support concepts to develop cost effective solutions to ensure continued mission success.
**What you will be working on**
- To monitor, analyse, and ultimately improve the sustainment of the Home Team’s operationally-ready WS&A capabilities with optimum cost effectiveness. - To develop and drive key sustainment initiatives such as data science/ artificial intelligence to raise the Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) performance of the Home Team’s WS&A capabilities. - Implement and provide daily ground operations and support (O&S) activities, such as maintenance programs, quality checks, system recovery, etc. - Establish the adoption of O&S methodologies across the Home Team, based on relevant standards and best practices. - Provide specialist insight and direction into Integrated Logistic Support (ILS), RAM trends, obsolescence, and recommend system enhancements afforded by technological advancements. - Drive O&S innovation by undertaking technological and/or process re-engineering Proof-Of-Concept trials and assessments. - Maintain an institutional repository of lessons learnt/reviews from in-service systems and projects’ implementations under a central managed knowledge management (KM) framework. - Provide O&S expertise in systems design during early-design phases to optimise system life-cycle sustainment. - Maintain technical governance and oversight of WS&A sustainment projects/routines to ensure operational readiness/availability and strategies alignment. - To lead and drive the modernisation effort of sustaining and operating a central system to archive the entire WS&A Life Cycle. - To build, sustain and deepen the operations & support (O&S) staff competencies within the WS&A domain. - To establish collaboration and partnership with external entities (WOG, IHLs, RI, industries, etc.) to optimise ops readiness.
