Job Summary
Conduct adoption suitability assessment for prospective adopters who seek to adopt as well as empower adoptive parents/families through education & counselling with adoption-related workshops and counselling. To support the department in meeting the needs of adoptive community in Singapore.
Main Responsibilities
Home Study Reports - Conduct assessment of the couple's suitability for adoption and assist in the home study report. Conduct post-placement reports when necessary.
Workshops - To conduct adoption-related workshops such as mandated pre-adoption briefings, disclosure workshops, children workshops
Counselling - Counsel adoptive parents and children who are facing family issues.
Adoption placement - Facilitate placement of a newborn baby to potential adoptive parents.
Support Group - Assist in Adoptive Families' support group
Assist to facilitate in any other projects and the needs of the department
Working Conditions
5-day work week: Mon - Fri, 9am - 6pm

**Requirements**:
Degree in Social Work, Counselling or related discipline with at least 3 years of related Social Work or Counselling experience
Passionate in adoption work
Be conversant in the adoption process, documentation, criteria & issues surrounding adoption
Good and confident communication skills
- relationally and in public speaking
Excellent writing skills and strong interpersonal skills
Group facilitation, planning and organising skills
Independent but also Team Player
Enjoy working with families
