RMO Material Science Laboratory’s primary mission is to provide analytical test solutions to enable media and product qualification on product yield, quality, and reliability. The team also serves a critical role on HDM tribology, contamination, and defect reduction, working closely with and enabling other functions in the disciplines of Mechanical, Electrical, Recording Technology, R&D, Customer Integration, and Manufacturing. This role will report to an Engineering Manager.

**About the role - you will**:

- Perform material science lab test and hands on operation laboratory analytical instruments e.g., Raman, OSA, SEM-EDX, AFM, XPS and TOF-SIMS.
- Perform material science characterization, failure analysis on recording head & media.
- Work in a team that develops metrology and deploys technical solution to meet the products CTQ and reliability requirements of hard disc drive.
- Work closely with the design functional groups to provide high-level analytical support to product and process engineering team.

**About you**:

- Self-motivated and demonstrated ability to adapt to a changing environment.
- Ability to communicate engineering and technical concepts to internal and external partners.
- A team player with the ability to collaborate with cross functional and international partners.
- Bachelor/Master in Material Science/Chemistry/Analytical Chemistry.

**Your experience includes**:

- Specialize in surface techniques & analysis, polymer/ coatings/material characterization.
- Lab skills, including operation of analytical spectroscopic and data analytics techniques.
