Overview:
**SUMMARY**: The Associate Marketing Director is responsible for providing the leadership in developing
and implementing strategic marketing and business strategies for Kemin AquaScience globally. The position is expected to create and lead initiatives to 1) strengthen KAQ brand and competitive
advantages 2) ensure the most effective utilization of our core competences (product
management, technical services, CLS and KAS services) in a coordinated
manner, and 3) strengthen data and information management capabilities (market,
customers, and competitor intelligence) for better decision making.
The Associate Marketing Director will play a key role in Kemin’s Product Innovation Process
(PIP), primarily focusing upon the identification and qualification of product
opportunities and shepherding those product concepts through the development
process, prelaunch planning and drive speed to market after launch.
The Associate Marketing Director is a member of the KAQ Leadership Team and is called on
to contribute significantly to the decision making of the Business Unit.

**Responsibilities**:
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**:
- Develop and implement an effective KAQ Brand strategy, strengthening KAQ brand leadership in selected regions globally.
- Manage various Product Launches for KAQ dedicated products and platforms.
- Define markets of significance for growth strategy for KAQ
- Segment the market, determine target segments and our value proposition and positioning in chosen segments.
- Develop and implement the best options to approach the target markets (4Ps).
- Provide strategic direction for new product development through active participation in the PIP process.
- Ensure the most effective utilization of our core competences (product management, technical services, CLS, and KAS services) in a coordinated manner across the organization.
- Work closely with sales team; enabling them to meet their commercial objectives by guiding them with appropriate tools, materials and presentations.
- Lead KAQ’s annual strategic planning process (Strat Plan). Provide quarterly updates to WW.
- Develop and manage annual marketing budget and execute events, communications and promotions within budget.
- Motivate and develop staff of marketing team, help staff to achieve their career development and SMART goals.
**OTHER FUNCTIONS**:
- Strengthen data and information management (market, customers, and competitor intelligence), providing continuous and timely analysis of industry trend and dynamics, of customer trends and of competitive activities to facilitate effective decision making.
Qualifications:
**ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCES**:
- A minimum of 5 years of strategic marketing management experience in agrifood, agribusiness, food, health or related industries.
- A proven track record of achieving strategic goals and delivering budgets
- A high-energy individual capable of to providing leadership, set priorities, delegate responsibilities, and meet tough timetables
- Excellent interpersonal skills to be able to work effectively in a diverse team environment.
- Demonstrated ability in dealing with challenges and issues, seen as person to go to for solutions.
- Ability to work under pressure
**PHYSICAL EFFORT NEEDED**: Office Working Environment. Due to nature of a global role, virtual meetings in the morning or evening hours will be required from time to time, to enable communications with rest of team.
