**About the Role**:
In this role, you will be part of the APAC Uber Eats Strategic Finance (Japan) team. You will be partnering across Sales, Operations, Strategy & Planning, and other cross-functional collaborator to work on 1-2 stand alone special projects which will require in-depth understanding of the business and its products, processes, and risks/opportunities. You will be driving strategic analysis and insights, and make critical recommendations to influence and aid leadership in key decision making for the Japan business.

**Your Impact in Role**:
**Special projects**: the key objective of this internship will be to take on 1-2 special projects across (but not limited to) the various topics: (1) Uber One (Uber’s Membership program), (2) Restaurant and Merchant facing pricing to provide more flexibility merchant acquisition and retention strategies, (3) sales optimization strategies.
- ** Sophisticated financial modeling**: build models from scratch, improve existing models, and capture complex business reality/dynamics and interactions into comprehensive models and leverage those to assess trade-offs, propose solutions and drive better decision making
- ** Think strategically and execute**: the models we build aid in decision making and strategy - we operationalize our insights and support daily execution. This is not a backwards looking role - we are responsible for helping the business make decisions, put our foot in the ground, and run at it
- ** Innovate**: Be creative, adaptive, and eager to learn new technical skills in finance and data & analytics using spreadsheets, SQL, and Python.

**The Experience You'll Bring**:

- Elite Excel skills
- Working SQL, Python or R would be great for the heavy analysis we’ll be doing
- Attention to detail: consistent with swift execution
- Excellent communication and people skills: numbers are key, but a business is built with people and it takes good storytelling to convey the numbers in a way that they will land with impact
- Self-starter skills: You will take initiative, be dedicated, set and drive toward goals
