**What we’re looking for**:
**Responsibilities**
- Play and mix records to create atmosphere and keep people dancing/moving to the beat
- Choose music to suit your audience’s taste and the venue’s music policy
- Create your own sounds by manipulating beats, using samples, adding extra music and sound effects
- Creating house playlists
- Arrive to your gig on time with all of your equipment
- Set up your DJ booth and sound system according to the venue’s specifications
- Perform a soundcheck to ensure that your music is sounding its best
- Play music that will keep the crowd engaged and dancing throughout the night
- Take requests from guests and play songs that fit the mood and energy of the event
- Be prepared to adjust your setlist on the fly based on the crowd’s reaction to your music
- Stay up-to-date on the latest music trends and find new tracks to add to your collection
- Practice mixing different genres of music to broaden your musical repertoire
- Invest in high-quality DJ equipment and software to produce the best possible sound for your gigs

**Required Skills and Qualifications**
- Proven experience as a DJ in a professional setting
- Encyclopedic knowledge of music genres, including current and classic hits
- Exceptional musical skills with the ability to read a crowd and play accordingly
- Excellent technical skills and experience with sound mixing equipment
- Outgoing personality with the ability to engage and entertain a crowd
- Professional appearance and demeanor

**Preferred Skills and Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in audio engineering or music production
- Experience with live sound reinforcement
- Experience creating custom DJ mixes and remixes
