**_Position Summary _**
This position is responsible as the workplace safety and health (WSH) technical lead of Singapore, and the primary person for DG management in APAC within the Client's account.
**_Responsibilities _**
Primary Responsibilities (Singapore Safety)
- Be the country’s technical advisor of Singapore in the aspects of workplace safety and health.
- Develop and maintain the WSH Management System.
- Facilitate the implementation of the corporate/region safety initiatives in Singapore.
- Advise and assist in the assessment of WSH risks and impacts.
- Monitor and analyse the work conditions, work practices and safety performances for continuous improvements and compliances with relevant legal requirements as well as in-house safety requirements.
- Liaise with the relevant authorities, customers, internal staff, contractors and any other interested parties on WSH matters.
- Investigate into industrial accidents and recommend measures to prevent recurrence.
- Assess relevant WSH legal and other changes, and initiate necessary programmes/measures for compliance/conformance.
- Facilitate the effective operations of the safety committees.
- Develop and deliver WSH training.
- Drive WSH promotion initiatives.
- Carry out any other assignments as tasked by the APAC General Manager or Regional Safety Manager.
Primary Responsibilities (APAC DG)
- Interpret dangerous goods related regulations, and develop and update processes, procedures, and controls to ensure GXO Logistics Supply Chain compliance with applicable Dangerous Goods Regulations
- Evaluate business units and site risks / performance to identify and triage areas in most need of support, and execute support initiatives as needed
- Maintain oversight of dangerous goods site and corporate auditing process
- Partner with organization leaders to drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance with Dangerous Goods Regulations and GXO policy
- When required, interface with customers, service providers, and / or government officials to manage issues to closure
- Identify programme inconsistencies and create corrective action plans
- Create highly refined and effective corporate level work products such as procedures, training presentations, safe work practice documents, compliance assessments, tools, etc. for distribution to sites nationwide
- Organise and present management information such as strategic planning initiatives, statistical performance, etc. to senior leadership
- Assist with identifying requirements for dangerous goods service providers
- Conduct DG awareness training for new hires
- Set up and align the Emergency Response Plan for all APAC sites
- Abide to all local regulations for APAC sites on road transport for DG items
- Carry out any other assignments as tasked by the APAC General Manager or Regional Safety Manager.
**_Qualifications Summary _**
- Experience _:
- At least a year of experience working in Dangerous Goods (DG) management. Experiences in APAC will be an added advantage.
- Safety experience in logistics or manufacturing industries preferred.
- Education _:
- Degree/Specialist Diploma in workplace safety and health
- Registered WSH Officer under the WSH Act (those that have obtained the necessary qualification pending registration, or undergoing courses leading to WSH Officer registrations are also welcome)
- Skills _:
- Working knowledge with DG management and requirements
- Sound understanding of Singapore safety and fire safety laws and practices.
- Pro-active and independent
