**Responsibilities**:
Perform credit analysis on new & exiting customers timely in order to decide credit rating and recommend credit limits for the Credit Committee’s consideration.
- Writing credit reviews on the accounts, perform research and analysis on clients background, operations model, financial status (Liquidity and solvency analysis, trend analysis), market outlook to justify risk appetite.
- Ability to monitor delivered exposures on marine portfolio, review lines as market events and credit policy dictates, make sound decision on credit approvals when exposure over credit line
- Stay on top of overdues. Liaise with collections team on overdue status and monitor any signs of payment deterioration.
- Stay abreast of all key freight and commodity market fundamentals and metrics as part of developing knowledge of clients and the markets that they operate in. Has the ability to influence, make recommendations and negotiate with internal stakeholders for the benefit of the business. Represent the risk management voice in business discussions and decision.
- Attending customer meetings for better credit assessment
- Work closely with collection team in getting the bills paid, with legal team to make sure we have favorable terms and with sales and commercial team to increase company’s net profit
- Suggest meaningful Credit and Risk metrics and associated reporting to monitor APP segment Credit and Risk results; develop metrics and reporting as directed. Expected to work with international team of analysts to overhaul credit methodology and be an active collaborator.
- Ensure proper internal controls and compliance with policies and procedures.
- Maintaining and updating credit files as needed.
- Other ad-hoc tasks as assigned from time to time.

BACKGROUND AND SKILLS:

- A Bachelor’s Degree. Preferable in Maritime studies, Accountancy, Finance and Business, Mathematics or Engineering
- Minimum of 2-3 years prior experience in an analytical role not limited to credit position
- Some knowledge of risk mitigation tools, including international security documentation instruments, standby letters of credit and bank guarantees.
- Excellent analytical capabilities and keen attention to detail
- Proactive, self-motivated and able to work under tight deadlines in a dynamic work environment
- Understanding of shipping industry is a distinctive advantage
- Excellent computer software skills (Word, Excel, etc)
