Group Legal Counsel

**In this position you will....**

...help build a culture of informed and appropriate risk taking by providing legal, compliance and corporate governance support to bolttech’s operations and initiatives across its footprint.

You may be asked to support local operations and Office of General Counsel functions in respect of tasks in other locations.

**You will be responsible for**

**Leadership & Culture**
- Foster a mindset of continuous improvement
- Foster a companywide culture of integrity and compliance.
- Foster a culture of informed and appropriate risk taking.
- Implement / oversee the implementation of Group standards with regards to legal, compliance, privacy and corporate governance.
- Work with Group General Counsel and other OGC staff to ensure a consistent and coordinated approach to legal, compliance and risk issues and that efficiencies and synergies are harnessed across the Group

**Business Partnering**:

- Deliver, with agility, legal services aligned with business-strategy;
- Anticipate, identify, escalate and resolve legal and regulatory issues to facilitate business growth;
- Work closely with OGC team members to implement regional and Group policies and standards and report on, escalate and mitigate risks and issues;
- Promote awareness of new laws and regulations and help establish and maintain mechanisms to monitor on-going compliance including developing and delivering training
- Advise and lead drafting and negotiation of contracts;
- Advise on corporate governance matters in line with applicable Group standards and good practice
- Actively, strategically and cost effectively manage/leverage outside counsel relationships and related expense.

**You will require the following qualifications and skills**
- Experienced qualified lawyer with minimum ten (10) years of post-qualification experience;
- In-house experience (in insurance industry preferably);
- International experience required (Asia experience highly desirable);
- Asian language proficiency highly desirable;
- Experience dealing with relevant regulators desirable;
- Experience in leading a team across jurisdictions/locations and cultures;
- Strong commercial contract and distribution agreement drafting and negotiation experience;
- Strong interest and proficiency in using and adopting technology. Strong computer skills, software proficiency (MS Office minimum) and willingness to adopt new technologies.
