Staff Infrastructure Engineer, Issuing Processor

About the role
- The issuing processor team manages integration with card networks and develops the critical card payment processing capabilities that empower the hypergrowth of Airwallex issuing business. Millions of card transactions are processed to support Airwallex customers across the globe making borderless payments and growing their business beyond borders. A highly available and globally consistent infrastructure is the key to build the platform with industry leading uptime and world class security.
- As an infrastructure engineer you will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of physical racks including design, deployment, daily maintenance and incident response with the support from Airwallex network teams and our external trusted partners. We expect you to modernize the infrastructure & server configurations by automation and create observability to monitor the global data centers at scale.

**What you will do**:

- Work with Airwallex internal teams and our external partners to design and implement the physical racks that are highly available, globally consistent and best in security.
- Define the standards, processes and change management for the hardware lifecycle management in a PCI DSS compliant environment.
- Partner with vendors to define the incident response plan and manage production incidents with mínimal downtime.
- Physically assist in hardware installation and maintenance.
- Automate the infrastructure/server configurations and hardware monitoring.

**Qualifications**:

- B.S. in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience
- 5-10 years of experience working on data center server and networking hardware, with an understanding of the infrastructure at a high-level
- Experience of multiple-region data center design and implementation
- Working knowledge of scripting or coding to automate configuration and monitoring
- Software development experience with Java or other languages is a plus
- Excellent infrastructure & hardware troubleshooting skills
- Excellent vendor management skills

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Experience with payment processor, card scheme network or PCI compliance
- Experience with payment HSM management and configuration
