Assistant Director of Nursing

The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) will support the Director of Nursing in leading and managing the nursing and care team. This role is pivotal in ensuring high standards of clinical care, compliance with MOH/AIC regulations, operational efficiency, and the professional development of staff. The ADON will also play a key role in driving quality improvement initiatives and enhancing the overall resident experience.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Leadership & Management**
- Assist the Director of Nursing in overseeing day-to-day nursing operations and care delivery.
- Lead, coach, and mentor Nurse Managers, Registered Nurses, and Care Staff to uphold clinical and service excellence.
- Support workforce planning, including recruitment, retention, and rostering to ensure optimal staffing levels.
**Clinical Governance & Quality Care**
- Ensure compliance with MOH and AIC standards, licensing requirements, and internal policies.
- Implement and monitor quality improvement initiatives to enhance resident outcomes and safety.
- Oversee infection control, medication management, and care planning processes.
- Conduct audits, track performance indicators, and implement corrective actions where required.
**Resident & Family Engagement**
- Ensure holistic and person-centred care that respects dignity, preferences, and cultural values.
- Engage residents’ families, addressing concerns and keeping them informed on care plans.
- Participate in case conferences and discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
**Training & Development**
- Identify training needs and drive continuing education for the nursing team.
- Support staff competency development through structured training, supervision, and performance appraisals.
**Strategic & Operational Support**
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team (medical, allied health, operations, social services) to deliver integrated care.
- Participate in strategic planning, policy development, and projects to enhance elderly care services.
- Act as Acting Director of Nursing in the latter’s absence.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Master’s in Nursing/Healthcare Management preferred).
- Registered with the Singapore Nursing Board (SNB).
- At least 8-10 years of relevant nursing experience, with minimum 3-5 years in a supervisory/management capacity within eldercare, community care, or hospital setting.
- Strong knowledge of MOH/AIC regulations, clinical governance, and best practices in nursing home care.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and people management skills.Passionate about geriatric care and committed to raising care standards.
