Assistant Manager, Sustainability

**Key Responsibilities** Role Summary**

Reporting to the Head, Sustainability & Strategic Projects, your role is primarily to drive alignment between SATS’ sustainability objectives and business operations, develop and operationalise the organisation’s Scope 3 decarbonisation plans and strategise the group’s renewable energy procurement.

**Key responsibilities**
- Develop strategy for executing sustainability programmes, including building the business case for implementation, oversee accurate and timely disclosures on sustainability metrics, and secure wherever possible government and other external funding.
- Liaise with stakeholders (both internal and external) to seek collaborative opportunities to address sustainability issues. This includes driving ecosystem changes e.g. building smart infrastructure, improving building / facilities management, conducting feasibility studies, evaluating business cases etc.
- Research sustainability trends including new regulations, innovations, knowledge & insights that would impact SATS both locally and in our overseas markets.
- Establish impact measurement to incorporate sustainability criteria in decision making and project evaluation.
- Support business units (including those from SATS’ overseas subsidiaries) in driving and executing projects needed to achieve our sustainability targets.
- Monitor the portfolio of sustainability projects, focusing on areas such as timeline, environmental and economic benefits, priorities and resources.
- Oversee SATS’ Scope 3 reporting which includes the setting of and validating science-based targets for the group by FY23-24
- Develop and operationalise SATS’ Scope 3 decarbonisation plan, including data collection and analysis, drafting of plans and initiatives, coordinating outreach programmes etc.
- Conduct feasibility studies to evaluate the viable options for SATS in terms of renewable electricity procurement, renewable energy certificates (RECs) and/or carbon offsets.
- Identify emerging technologies and solutions that would enable SATS to accelerate its sustainability roadmap in the areas of decarbonisation, waste management, energy optimisation etc.
- Evaluate various sustainability solutions and recommend the most appropriate solution based on our requirements.
- Drive execution of proof of concepts, proof of values and pilots for potential solutions.
- Act as Sustainability Representation at industry forums or meetings.
- Work with Human Capital Internal Communications and CSR teams to enhance sustainability awareness amongst internal stakeholders through trainings, workshops and platforms such as the SATS Portal and MySATS+ Mobile App.

- BA/BS degree in Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, Business, or another relevant field
- Relevant certifications such as Certified Energy Manager (SCEM) is a plus
- At least 5 years’ experience in sustainability, energy management, facilities management, technical/systems engineering or relevant field
- Strong demonstrable passion about environmental sustainability and social issues
- Robust project management approach bringing structure to a programme by being methodical and rigorous. Ability to see projects through to completion, by prioritising tasks, keeping stakeholders informed
- Outstanding communication skills; demonstrated experience in planning, writing, and producing communication/training plans and materials, including presentation and presentation design skills suitable for outreach programmes
- Possess fundamental knowledge of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, Sustainability Reporting standards such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), etc.
