Associate Director, Procurement

The Procurement department at INSEAD is responsible for managing supplies and negotiating contracts with vendors to optimize costs and ensure the quality of goods and services. It works closely with various units of the school to meet their needs while adhering to ethical and sustainable standards.

INSEAD is seeking an **Associate Director, Procurement**to join our Procurement department **. This is a permanent and full-time position**based at either our Asia Campus in Singapore or our Europe Campus in Fontainebleau, France. A hybrid working model is in place - 3 days on campus, 2 days from home.

**Your role within the team**

Category Strategy
- Develop a comprehensive category strategy aligned with the INSEAD’s overall goals and objectives. This involves conducting detailed spend and existing portfolio analysis, market research, analyzing industry trends, identifying potential suppliers, and understanding the technology requirements of various business units.

Supplier Sourcing and Management
- Lead complex tenders for strategic suppliers selection and oversee sourcing specialists sourcing activity.
- Identify and evaluate potential technology suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage relationships with key vendors. This includes conducting supplier assessments, process reviews, performance evaluations, and establishing supplier performance metrics.

Cost Optimization and Risk Management
- Optimise costs associated with technology procurement by negotiating favourable pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers. This involves conducting cost-benefit analysis, identifying opportunities for cost savings, and implementing strategies to drive cost reduction.
- Assess and mitigate risks associated with technology procurement. This includes evaluating supplier capabilities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, addressing data security and privacy concerns, and managing any potential risks to INSEAD's technology infrastructure. In a management capacity, this role is accountable for the due diligence and compliance of the entire technology suppliers’ portfolio.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with various stakeholders, such as IT departments, FP&A, other business units, and senior management, to understand their technology needs and align procurement activities accordingly.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and manage their expectations. This role will also collaborate significantly with the procurement excellence team who defines best practices within the procurement operations and supports/controls adherence.

Team Management
- Contribute to the Procurement Leadership Team and oversee 2 to 3 headcounts (buyer(s) and procurement analyst(s)), recruitment, objectives setting, performance evaluation, development management, delivery. Act as a mentor/coach for the team and oversee their training and development as needed.
- A degree, preferably in Procurement, Finance, Business Administration, in addition with a globally recognized professional Procurement accreditation (CIPS, Institute for Supply Management (ISM))
- Minimum of 8 years relevant experience in Category Management, preferably in IT category, with hands on experience in performing the relevant sourcing work within an enterprise. Team management experience will be an advantage.
- Excellent strategic thinking with strong numerical, analytical skills and financial acumen.
- Executive level presence with high level communications and interpersonal skills in a multicultural environment; proven experience in partnering with Business Leaders and stakeholders.
- Collaborative and positive influencer within Management team, ability to explore all options and then take collective accountability and action.
- Keeps abreast with latest procurement and IT related developments.
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory and compliance laws and regulations across Europe, Middle East, USA and Singapore.
- Customer oriented and open to working with people from diverse background and culture.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
