**Montessori Directress**:

- Montessori Directress is a crucial role in modelling courteous and respectful behaviour as well as contributing to the warm, supportive, and calm atmosphere that is the hallmark of an authentic Montessori environment

**_Main Responsibilities: _**:

- Maintains the Montessori Classroom environment, culture, paying particular attention to the needs of the students.
- Prepares and maintains the environment, observes behaviours, models grace and courtesy, preserves and protects lessons, and assists in developing independence.
- Monitors the environment to make sure students aren’t overwhelmed and anxious.
- Engages students within the classroom by interacting and thinking about what is happening around them.
- Cleans-up of the classroom by ensuring that it is always tidy.
- Assists Children with their toiletry needs.
- Informs the lead of any classroom difficulties, including discipline, health, equipment needs etc.
- Preparation/production of instructional materials, i.e. typing, duplicating, cutting art & craftwork, modifying materials.
- Communicates openly and regularly with the lead to discuss goals for the class and individual students.
- Supervises free play activities and handle ad-hoc duties as requested

**_Requirements: _**
- At least 3-5 years of experience in working with little ones in a Montessori School
- Have demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with others and willingness to assume any assigned responsibilities in the school.
- Ability to adapt to the changing needs of children and the school environment.
- Diploma in Montessori Methods of teaching is preferred.
- Ability to converse well in the English language.
- Dedicated and responsible with a positive working attitude.
- Organized, meticulous and able to multi-task.
